very dissapointing... dvd was basically badly done advertising, I felt like I was being spammed through the TV. I enjoyed the bit on the rally coverage though.

Really too bad that this is what its come to. ill stick to the free Subaru drive performance magasine for my dose of adds and equivalent articles now.

Finally got an issue at the shop here.

Going to have to say pass on taking on future issues.

I hate to be blunt, but I just do not see the market for this. I hope I am wrong and you guys do well with it, but I have a pretty good track record. Personally I buy a magazine to read during my downtime. I might be in my garage, at lunch or sitting on the can. I don't buy a magazine to watch on my computer.

Best of luck with the future.

I got mine. 14 pages sure looks small.

The DVD was good enough, it wasn't awesome, or really great, but it was good. Now when I view your DVD magazine portion my wife counts it against my designated allowanced control of the remote time.

I thought the DVD adds were witty, but smallish and under done graphicly. The content was great. The content and the different articles were entertaining and informative, now you don't have to describe the exhaust tones, WE CAN actualy hear them, we dont have to scwint to look harder at the engine bay, we can pause and zoom, and reduce speed and loop, I think this is pretty cool.

I think that once you get a little more experiance with the format, this could be a win win scenerio.

I give it a 7 out of 10. The print content needs to be increased dramaticly, or it needs to go away, and the video quality and duration must increase. Not quite enough of either content to keep customers happy. If we don't get more content, complacence could turn to contempt.

Got mine, and I have to say - finally a review on the 3.6R and a video of it no less!!!!

Not too thrilled that I don't have anything to read on the toilet, but I'm happy with the video reviews on the 2010 Legacy models.

Just finished watching the DVD.

I give it a 6 out of 10, 4 of those 6 pts are for the rally coverage and 2 for the Foreste stuff.

A suggestion, instead of hopping straight into the "show" why not allow the user to select which section they want to watch?

Got mine yesterday. What a pile of ****. I paid for a real paper magazine that I could read and I get a little flyer. If I wanted to look at videos and other crap like that I could just find it on line. What a joke this has become.

I'm disappointed in the switch. I can't figure out how to see what's on the DVD while I'm at work, sitting in traffic delays or on the john which are the main places I get a chance to read a magazine. I've had mine for a week and haven't had time to check out the DVD. The magazine, I leafed through that in about 5 minutes. You have lost my subscription renewal, sorry. It just doesn't work for me.

I finally got my copy (Atlanta GA). My review:
Print portion;
Good – The girl/woman/chick on page 8 is kind’a hot and that’s about it.
Bad – Al Gore is going to be pissed that you killed a tree for this. Mostly (old advertisements) that we have seen before. GRM is a better source of adds.

DVD
Good – a little bit interesting.
Bad – no “index”, amateurish. Overall I had the feeling that I could find equally good free video by Googling.

My prediction – Unless you change, you are in a death spiral. Anyone that pays $9.99 for this at a news stand will not buy another. I subscribed after I read a copy in a Doctors waiting room. If I found this in a waiting room I would not even consider subscribing. Unless it changes, I will not be resubscribing. As your sales drop, you advertisers will send their adds towards magazines with higher readership, further dropping revenues. I used to like SubiSport and hope you can save it.

For what it was, my favorite part was viewing the DVD. Good content, easy on the eyes, engaging. Kinda like a longer PRoN. My least favorite part was the thin magazine... I was seriously disappointed by the lack of content in the mag. The 2 stories were just OK. Again, the DVD was very nice. You shoulda just sent the DVD and nixed the printing costs of the 16-pager for the hybrid approach.

If you go full digital, I can't say I'd subscribe.

Sorry about the above post. I didn't realize I was still logged in on my vendor account.

I liked the new magazine and DVD. I do have to say if I didn't subscribe to four other print car magazines I would be a bit ticked that it was as transportable as a normal magazine.

My one big issue is why did some receive their issue almost a month ago and I just got mine two days ago? I don't think it was in the mail that long so it must have been in waves. As I have been a long time subscriber and just renewed for another 2 years what puts me on the end of the list?

Hmm, I wonder if I'll actually get this.

I believe my subscription expired in the last couple of months (for the first time since Issue #3). I chose not to re-up since there has been no firm indication as to when production would begin again. Also, since I am now in Europe, the $76 price tag was very off-putting. Why does it cost an extra $40 to send out a mag within Europe ? Especially as it appears to be sent out from Belgium, so it's not like it even needs to cross the pond to reach me. And if the cover price has gone up to $10, I expect that the overseas subscription rates will be beyond a joke.

I have no idea where my subscription stands at this point. I have sent a couple of emails in but they have been ignored. Was my subscription chopped off on the calendar day it expired, or will it be honoured for the appropriate number of issues I paid for ? Who can say ?

And, speaking as a European reader, is the DVD region free ? Do European subscribers get a PAL/SECAM version, or are we expected to invest in an NTSC compatible player ?

I am also very disappointed to see the magazine format dying out. I'm one of those who likes to read in the throne room, and a DVD does me no good there. If this is the way of the future, I expect to subscribe to the following Subaru focused magazine instead...

http://www.totalcarmagazines.co.uk/subscribeimpreza.htm

Also, why does the digital version of SubieSport cost more than the print version ? (This may no longer be true, but I'm asking anyway.) I would have to use my bandwidth, paper and ink in order to get a hard copy of the PDF versions, so shouldn't it be cheaper ? Even if the PDF version was the same price as the print version (used to be), I'd probably go for that instead of paying the international rates. But there's no good rationale for the virtual version to cost more than the physical version.

Well, I guess I've rambled on long enough. If a copy ever drops into my mailbox, I'll probably come back and give it an actual review.

Bye for now,
Stuart.

My feedback. Keep in mind that I think my situation is unique.

The DVD is nice. But I will agree with others in this thread (as well as the ones out of the thread) that we expect a print magazine with our subscription. My purpose when subscribing to the magazine was that so I could keep up relatively with the what was new and developing in the Subaru world.

Lately I've been spending less time on NASIOC compared to the first 5 years when I joined NASIOC and subsequently less time on the TV/Computer/Internet. Therefore the last thing I want to do is utilize an electronic media device for magazine content.

If I want content by electronic means, I would be on the computer and online browsing through NASIOC. If Subiesport does stick with the DVD route, then it is a redundant medium and therefore I regret to inform I won't be return subscriber.

I understand that you guys have access to exclusive information/content at times, but to me it isn't such a big deal.

I also understand that you guys are trying to make due with what you have and that these days are hard and you need to make some decisions in order to increase your survivability. I've been a subscriber since the first issue (and even seem some of the one-time runners like North West Autosports, so I know where you stem from) and I have enjoyed the magazine in the past. I'm glad Ryan that you found a magazine that could make it, and I wish you and Subiesport crew the best of luck for the time ahead.

I still haven't received any issues from them since the first (and only one) I received when I sent in my check this past February. Guess i'm out the $30, or whatever I sent them since it looks like i'm never going to get anything from them again. I sent an e-mail many weeks ago but never received anything back.

I called their customer service number on their site, and not suprisingly all you get is a fast-busy signal.

Finally got it today, Augusta, GA.

Haven't had a chance to view the DVD - I don't really do much DVD watching as it is. I'll hold off on my judgement for now, but I am curious to see it.

I really don't think I will mind getting a 20 page mag and a DVD, as long as I get it Bi-monthly, since that's what I paid for. 3 issues in 1 year is pretty damned unacceptable.
