Last one was an August issue right? My guess is September...assuming all things go smoothly. Again can I please have a real case for the DVD at least since it is the bulk of the "magazine"? Those paper sleeves are weak.

Plenty of other subscribers who paid for a bi-monthly printed magazine, and instead are receiving a CD with a folder of videos. I've discussed this issue with a few other Subiesport subscribers, and I can assure you that I'm not alone.

I'm going to go against the grain a little and say that I actually liked the dvd. Sure we signed up for the print but to me it is an even tradeoff. Personally I could do without the print supplement and just have a pdf supplement for cost issues so long as the dvd is filled with more content. Many have complained about the advertisements on the dvd but how else are they going to fund things? I actually don't mind the advertisements since I am learning about shops I have never heard of before. The guy showing off his products was great as an advertisement.

I have just been as frustrated as everyone being a new subscriber but I understand that this new format took a lot of time to change to. I also understand why they had to do it. By evolving they are still trying to bring interesting content to the Subaru community and I salute their efforts on this.

A glorified brochure that I thumbed through, then tossed in the pile, and a DVD that I probably won't watch. I don't even watch movies.

I definately won't scream and yell about getting my money back, because I truly hope that things turn around for the SubieSport guys, but this current situation does not please me.

i really enjoyed the dvd. especially the article about the shop that made their own forester sti and the review on the new legacy. the dvd was able to show stuff that you cannot read in a magazine, like the build process and walk arounds of the cars. i would like a few more pages in the actual magazine because i felt like after i watched the dvd, i finished my whole magazine in that time. normally i can flip thru the magazine off and on for a few months before i dont read it any longer but the dvd only had a one time view for me. this was a neat view into where subisport could be headed, cant wait for the next issue.

When i received this "issue", i was very mad that it was a dvd. I paid for a magazine, with paper, articles, interviews, opinions and insight. What i did not pay for is a FREAKING DVD, where i would be tied to an power outlet. I, and i'm sure many others, sit behind a computer all day, everyday, and this would be the last thing i would want to do during my leisure time.

I decided that instead of getting mad and rant this and that, i would take the path less traveled and actually watch and read everything before i pointed fingers or started kissing toes.

The leaflet, sucks. PERIOD, the end. It was nothing more than a wiener tease of a flyer selling your dvd magazine to us.

The DVD, overall I was pleasantly... surprised. I couldn't have been more impressed with the inaugural edition. Don't get me wrong, there are things, many things that NEED to be done to make this thing great. It was far from great, hands down, but it was good. I say a solid 7 out of 10.

The forester build, legacy tuning and rally coverage videos were SUPERB!!! Outstanding job, loved every minute of them. My favorite, the legacy tuning, showed the insight you do not see on reading forums or reading a magazine about tuning and getting inside the brain of a tuner. I'm sure this could still use some refining and more content but overall i thought it was good.

The Subiefest coverage and legacy review you totally dropped the ball. Subiefest coverage was decent but I'm sure there was more potential footage and stories than just a time attack, a pretty standard 04 wrx w/ stage 4 upgrades and some old footage from 2008.

The legacy review was horrid. Go read a car and driver review then roll those 3-5 pages of opinion into a 5-10 minute review. This part had potential but really, really needs the most work.

Now, given everything that has been said already, i completely agree that you must be open to change or else but i think that Subiesport has made a bad name for itself with your poor excuse of distribution and timeliness for issues. Then to go and change everything with no notice, big no no.

***you are a business, you are in business to please people so they can support you. Do not piss off the people who are paying you to do something***

I have only a few options i think would be viable for you. Do one of the following 3 things and stick to it.

1. Make this a paper only magazine, raise subscription prices, start delivering on a regular time table.
2. Move to a paper magazine 50-100 pages plus 1 1/2 - 2 hr. DVD, raise subscription prices, deliver on set time table.
3. Move to exclusive DVD/online content. I honestly think going this way is leading you down the wrong path. You will lose a lot of people, possibly lose your company.

I am still opposed to taking this to dvd only, but i definitely like the idea of including it in with a real, readable, thick magazine, even if i have to pay more.
regarding the legacy tuning video, i enjoyed it so much! and I would be willing to bet a video dedicated to tuning or some other "art" forms could be a clever yet effective way to sell your dvd idea.

one other thing i've always liked and wanted from subiesport are full pullout pictures, ones Super Sport used to have. just always wanted this from subiesport

Whatever you do, can you please, please start delivering on a set schedule? even if it includes some zany stupid article, please get on a schedule and stick with it. No one ever knows when to expect one in the mail.

quoted cause I agree with every word. I WOULD PAY MORE FOR MORE CONTENT. I just don't like the attitude many people have, getting pissed off cause you didn't get what you deserved and then sharing only your frustration... that help no one.

But.... this person shared their frustration, and gave a cinstructive critisism, and I like this this idea of offering a full print plus DVD, or improved online content...

no one wants to raise rates.... BUT YOU MAY HAVE TO>

HaHa I wouldn't hold my breath on that one. At this rate I bet we don't even get one more by December. I also love how they ask what we think of the new "Issue" and format and everyone for the most part is saying they want a magazine they can read and not a few pages of BS and a DVD. They are still going to do what they want with the "magazine".

I'm not sure they will be able to bounce back after all the mess this year.

It's just too much to try and do something different when you don't even have everything stable enough to do it.

It boils down to too much bullsh** and alot of customers who will not be renewing subscriptions or even trying to look for it in stores, after all, why bother looking if you don't even know the schedule anymore? It will be sad to see it go, considering how great everything was when they first published, and who can argue with Subaru only info and coverage? However, the time has come to either step out or put up.

Yep, I've pretty much given up on ever seeing the rest of my subscription. I'll be surprised if there is even another DVD.
