A little bit off topic but... does anyone know where to get the EDM tail light for a 2010 WRX hatch with the built in fog light?

I am the one who made this thread and from when I created it almost a year ago, my tails are the same as day 1. No fading, ripping, etc.

Mine are the same also, except I did mine last August. I used Dupil-colors Metalcast red.

I've had mine for about a month.. not sure if you want my opinion but mine are holding up pretty well still haha. Except I need to redo the top because I messed up and didn't go over that area enough with my spray so it's lighter than the other areas Anyone know what I can use to remove the krylon metalcast spray paint? Or should I just mask off the other areas and paint the "lighter" area again?

I am considering this after doing the vinyl route. Since I'm cheap I did it myself and it was very very difficult.

I'm wondering the same thing. I didn't get the edges good enough and they're starting to look a little pink. What would be the best way to go about adding some more color and clear to them. Wetsand what I have then just hit it with some color and then clear it again?

Just installed some mudflaps, too... I'm happy with how my little 09 is coming together with not even 1,000 miles on her yet

Are those the RA "Basic" mudflaps?

Upgraded turbo (faster in a 1/4 mile than a stock STI!!!!!)
red stitched interior
no chromy pieces on the car
gunmetal rims
etc, etc, etc. The difference between the two cars is very significant. Check out cars101.com for all the differences. Also check this out!!!! 2008 vs 2009 wrx. The 09 absolutly walks all over the 08. Subaru really did do a phenominal job with getting customer feedback on the 08's and really made something special with the 2009's. I hated the 2008's when they came out because of all the chrome and all the bling than when the 2009's were released, they really caught my eye!

From the picture it looks like they are DIY mudflaps of some sort. I think its the diy cutting board mudflaps.

The stuff that I specifically used on my car is best in my opinion. The other options are either too metallicy or too dark.

Heck ya man. It will make the rear look 10000 times better. After I did mine I loved the car that much more. I get alot of compliments on it. The best is when people ask me where I got those lights from and how much they were. When I tell them there OEM lights with a 9.99 spray paint on them most of their jaws drop

Just did this today. Word of warning though, if you get a good first coat of the paint just know that a second coat will darken it. It looked good with one coat and I put a second coat on just for posterity and it made it a little too dark for me.

Or maybe try 2 light coats....

to super hks: AWESOME JOB! i definately thinking about doing this to my tail lights because i love the way it looks .. how can you go wrong for 10 bucks compared to the $120 price i was given for having the tints done. one question though (may sound stupid).. when you were masking off the lights did you use a razor to cut the corners while the tape was on the tail light or did you use a template that you cut out while the tape was not on the lights? thanks.

just a head up on this.. i had leds in for one day and they cause the blinkers to blink extra fast because of the little power they draw compared to the regular blinkers, the car thinks the bulb is burnt out when in reality the leds are just consuming less power.

You'd either need to add a load equalizer (resistor pack... not a great solution but it works) or upgrade the flasher relay to an electronic one which does not base flash rate on load.

Just got mine done about 20min ago. Took about 2 hours over all. Metalcast Red and Rustolium Clear FTW x 10Million!

In progress pic, almost finished:

All done and Installed, just need to maybe wet sand with 2000 grit and wax. But the finish is VERY smooth already, just might need a quick polish job with some wax.
