IDK, I found it on Ebay, I am damn sure it is not authentic JDM Subaru, however I hated cleaning rail dust out from between my factory STi logo. And I figured yeah, its not a RA, however it is "Race Altered" so it works for me.

I kinda like them the way they are. They are easy to polish and care for this way. However I agree, it might not look to bad black.

But damn, $49 for it. EEEK.....

I should not complain. I just spent $75 on the JDM side badges for my 08 STi from avoJDM

not sure if my clear coat is just not good for the metalcast stuff, or what, but it seems to liquefy fully cured metalcast if I put it on too thick, or too quickly. Once it's cured, it's great. Maybe i'm just using a weird kind of clear... It's krylon uv resistant acrylic clear....

I just did this and it didnt turn out quite as smoothe as id like. Would it be safe to lightly claybar over the clear coat enamel, polish then wax it?

You could wet sand with a high grit to get out any imperfections. Then seal it with another clear coat. Hope this helps

polish will probably be enough, if you have the patience.

Clay bar won't help at this point. Maybe if they've been on your car for a few months, but if they're fresh, there's likely not much dirt, nothing the polish wouldn't take off.

I screwed mine up. Had to redo... All you have to do is sanding with very fine one... I used 600 to get all the paint off. When you finish, it looks like you messed up big time (it scared me too..) but once you put some paint and clear on, it looks good as new!

Are you guys clearing the painted red area only or the entire tail light section?

Either way it wouldnt really matter. ( Just keep the tape on while clearing. No use of taking it off)

clear the whole thing.

otherwise, you end up with a nice little ridge of paint that wax and dirt will stick to.

and as far as the third light, you need to take off the rear spoiler... just 4 bolts and some clips.
