Good tint shop in the NoVA/Woodbridge Area

Does anybody know a respectable tint shop in the NoVA/Woodbridge area? I got pulled over for a ticket today for too dark tint on the fronts

. I knew it was going to happen eventually, I had a good year long run. Kinda annoying seeing as I bought it from a stealership with the tint and it passed inspection fine but the officer's response was pretty much an ohwell.

Well, not complaining, the law's the law and I guess it's time for me to go lighter on the fronts (meter rated them at 13%, what I'm guessing was 15% on the fronts and 10% of the rears). I wasn't told to fix the rears, just the fronts so I'm wondering where I should go to get the tint removed and a lighter tint applied?

Also, I was told the legal limit for the fronts is 50% in Virginia. Does anyone have any pictures of their car with around 50% tint? Thanks for any and all help.

Why do you have to get the tint removed?

A few years back I got a ticket from a VA state trooper (back when I was living in VA) for illegal tint and had to pay a fine. However, there is nothing in the legal code that was cited on the ticket that said I had to remove the tint. Did you receive a summons or do you have an appointment at a police station to prove that the tint was removed?

If you don't have to go to a judge / trooper / officer and show that the tint was removed then I'd just pay the fine and move on.

I received a court summons saying that I have to get it removed/redone and come in with a receipt and pictures showing that it was fixed. I know that you can just pay the fine online/mail-in and just avoid the court but I'm still going to redo the tint. The tint is pretty dark (about 10%) and I'm sure that around where I live I'll just be pulled over again and again

Virginias yearly safety inspection does not have tint on the checklist. Police are the enforcers of that, not auto shops. That is how you were able to buy the car with the tint on it, even though it's illegal.

Good to know, thank you. But does anybody know of any good shops in the area? XD

EDIT: Friend recommended Tint Shoppe to me and after a bit of searching it seems like a alright place. I also dug up some mixed reviews here about LA Tint. Some say it's a great place and others say there are some pretty bad horror stories. Any personal experience with either place? I'll probably end up calling Tint Shoppe tomorrow.

did you get it tinted yet? i am also interested in getting tint soon. When i got tint on my 300zx in 2003 i only paid a $100 bucks and it was a real good job. Now its easily $200.00.....

I went to a place in Manassas across from the Ihop. It's called "LA Tint". You would assume it to be a sketchy stealership style place, but they did a PERFECT job on my WRX (40 all around, risking it). In the tinting bay the owner had his personal Maserati, and they were doing a very nice m3 next to it. Solid people, guys son works at Ptuning and drives a nice red EVO IX. They charged me somewhere in the neighborhood of 130.
