Asked if he posted here, he said he used to but not in a while...

What are you doing at Hale's?

The BRP RS belongs to Mark. He was the guy who drove the Grand Am to March's meet. He was also at Red Robin at the February meet. He said he is going with an intercooled system next time.

I was going to have Hale's spin up my wheels to check for balance; they're just down the street from work. Unfortunately, they said they couldn't do it because they didn't have a dynamic balancer and didn't think that it would do the job. Kinda got the cold shoulder. Whatever. . .

Let me quote myself from AKDSM.COM. "I would rather gouge my eyes out with rusted railroad spikes than go to Hale's!"

Yea, I've never heard anything good about Hales.

What exactly broke in his engine? If the heads are still good, he could get a brand new legacy turbo 2.2l block from subaru for about $1100(haven't priced them lately). Everything from the EJ25 swaps right over and he could safely run higher boost because of the 8:1 compression and piston oil squirters.

I'm not sure what internals are broken but he was looking for a complete block. I called Subaru and got him our cost on the EJ25 block with pistons and a complete head. It was going to cost around $1400. He was considering the APS/COBB stroker kit until he found out how much it costs ($4000 shipped). The last time I talked to him, which was last week, he mentioned that he had just returned form an Army training exercise in Louisiana. I'll see if he'll get on and post. Look for the username BloodLust, CatzEye, or something like those.

I can't say that Hale's has a good reputation. I have heard that he is expanding his business to include AEM to his technical lineup.

Like I said Hale's doesn't have a good reputation. We should start a Hale's Sticky that is a permanent bashing fixture.
