Question How long should slotted rotors last? please help

So about 4-5 years ago I picked up used rotors from a friend of mine. I heard a noise grinding noise the last week so checked into it and found the inside lip of the rotor after 4ish years rubbing on the metal heat shield (if you wana call it that) that the rotor sits on (only taking a right turn). The rear brakes were toast and one side wore really uneven so I put new pads on the car (93k miles on the car stock rear pads) I am also wondering why they wore uneven maybe rotor was warped...?

I have carbotech's for the fronts. Anyhow I think I need at least new rear rotors as the inside slots are very worn. I think im gonna pick up a set of 4 decent ones nothing too expensive $400ish. A decent upgrade from stock also ones that work well with upgraded front pads.

Rotors were on my car for 50k but longevity or slotted rotors average...?

Thank you

Jay

i have their bbk, i believe their rotors are resurfaceable, at least the slotted ones are. the drilled/slotted ones generally arent resurfaceable for most brands.

as far as longevity goes, it really depends on how you drive. for example, if you're a hard daily street driver or you track your car alot, you shoud look into RacingBrakes BBK, or their slotted 2 piece rotors which are meant for heavy usage. the 1 piece slotted isn't meant for heavy usage that you would put it under on a track. so it wouldnt last very long.

but if you're just using it for daily driving with some occasional light spirited driving, then the slotted 1 piece would be perfect for you. just make sure you match it with a compatible street pad.

i believe racingbrake uses a 3500 grade cast iron for their rotors, where as most OEM manufacturers use 3000 grade, so it should last a bit longer if you drive moderately.
