Default Back from the drag races, my car is slow

I think my timing might have taken a **** again, or maybe I just suck at drag racing... but I should be faster than that with my power/weight

car on the left, 12.7 @ 106

I was expecting to run a high 11

and I'm curious why you're not surprised, especially since you thought I ran a 14.9

Your 60ft could be better, I was down to nearly a 1.8 flat with a stage 2 wrx... and you can launch harder with your 6spd

I used the limiter to shift for the first couple passes, on that pass I tried shifting early, at 7000rpm

the only difference was when I shifted early my trap speed went up, but my ET stayed the same.

My shifts are VERY fast, Im confident they're about as fast as you can get with a traditional gearbox. I'll get a video at some point

i think its about 305 or 310 whp at rocket, should be light but not crazy light. IIRC hes got some aluminum bits, but also very wide 17x10" wheels with some serious meat on them like 275's or something. hes also stuffed brembos, STI suspension, and a 6mt in there. that tranny aint light thats for sure.

275 is killing your time... 6mt? 07 STi or JDM 6sped?

May I know what clutch kit you have if you don't mind?

If you are only putting down 310whp on RR dyno 12.7 seems like a very reasonable time, your 60 can definitely improve though which will put you in the mid to low 12s but i really don't think you can run high 11's

Yes I think you time is reasonable for your car. 12.7 is a good time, especially if your not a drag racer. 11's are pretty difficult to hit(depending the car of course). As for the 60ft I agree that 2.2 could be shaved to 1.8 pretty easily.

With your power levels, I'd say you're on track with what you should be running. The time is solid, as a 12.7 is quick. As for the trap speed, maybe it's a little low, but not by much. I'd say you're pretty close to where you should be. With such a stellar 60' time, it looks like you're in need of some more top end. Like you said about your timing, that could very well be responsible for the lower trap.

Overall, I'd be very happy with a 12.7 second street driven import.

*thumbs up

Yea. I don't really want to go to anything bigger because the car is 90% street use and autocross

I drag race maybe half a dozen times a year

Reaction time affects ET by exactly 0%. He could sit there forever after the green light and still run a 12.7

Splinter, you've got more in the 60'....I know you do! Like 1.6-1.7

You're still new to the car, so I wouldn't sweat it too much. The time is quick as hell for a small displacement engine. Dragstrips favor big motors, and/or big turbos, and your car can do it all. Get some more seat time at the strip, and watch that time go down.

I'd also do some logging to see what's going on with your timing.
Is boost holding solid? What peak pressure are you running?
