Default Boost Monkey

Has anyone seen this...

www.boostmonkey.com

It kind of goes with this cheap Boost mod...

http://www.i-club.com/forums/showthr...hreadid=178352

I read this a couple days ago and held off on buying a Boost Controller. I like this much better than any MBC. I'm still contemplating on an EBC but this would be fun to play with.

I read it and downloaded the video about a week ago...It looks like it works pretty good if EGT is an issue with MBCs. I have an AVC-R and AFC in my Z so that is probably what i will go with in the WRX. The AVC-R is amazing and does a great job of holding the boost. I never had a chance to tune the AFC but I was able to set the Decel feature so that the car didnt die after the BOVs released at low speeds. Let me know if you get the monkey, it is interesting.

This mod is very simmilar to the free mods in the BCS (boost control solenoid) in DSMs. I would mostly worry about boost spikes with the stock boost control. I wouldn't expect it to hold boost at high rpm very well. But it might be better then I think it is. I had a MBC and they work preaty well it would spike about 2 psi and drop about 1 -2 psi to redline. But my Greedy proffec B dosen't spike almost at all and holds a rock steady 20psi of boost to redline. EBCs are pricy but defenetly worth the money.

Is anyone else interested in the Boostmonkey?? Hopefully the order will be made soon because I need it This is the final part of my puzzle i ahm trying to put together. There is a site for the Boostmonkey that has pretty good info on it and some reviews. They are cheap and hopefully easy to install with some good stable gains.

Thumbs down

the restrictor mod cause A LOT of boost lag, especially in 2nd. if you floor it in second gear , the car won't go anywhere for like 3 seconds. i didn't know that a little fitting can change the way a car drives.

I do not get the same thing in second with this mod. I had good results from changing out the restrictor.

I didn't see anything bad with this mod. Just a slight surge to about 14psi then back to 12 on mah gauge. Not all time but in second when I hammer it. This mod should be good in conjunction with the Boostmonkey. Its only about $110 bucks for an EBC so you can't go wrong. Cmon get on the Boostmonkey bandwagon!

are u sure it's the mod and not the driver...a majority of the people who have done this mod have no complaints of lag?
