Post

Hey Kris, I brought this up a little while ago in the WRX countdown forum. I was wondering if anyone had any more info about the unichip. If you follow this link:
http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/Foru...ML/000573.html
Trey from Cobb Tuning mentions that their piggyback computer uses the unichip. I emailed European Performance Engineering and am waiting to hear back from them(they are local). My only concern is that this is something that needs to be dyno`d to your specific setup to achieve the max results. My concern stems from the lack of a dynojet in our area. But otherwise I can`t wait. I really want one and I`m willing to drive a distance to get it dyno`d.

Exclamation Tuners in New England. You may want to jump on this!

Home of the UniChip - http://www.dastek.co.za/

I'm very excited by the results of this product on these pages? The AUS cars are basically the same as US models - a little more tuned down (imagine that WE get the faster car then UK or AUS ) http://www.airpowersystems.com.au/wrx/wrx.htm

Does anyone have experience with tuners already on the list? http://www.dastek.co.za/us_dealer_list.htm

This solves all the problems before us future WRX owners - 1. ECU Boost control, 2. One button back to stock, 3. Changing the fuel curve for intakes / exhaust etc. Plus optional IC water spray, etc. This also looks like a possile solution other then the monster TECII.

Like I said - I'm very intersted in this bit. - Kris

I have not read the links yet, but I would be interested to know how/if it will work for us non-factory turbo RS's guys if we install an aftermarket t-kit?

As Triumph would say...

"OOH YESSS, OOOH YES."
If you are looking for something between the $300 S-AFC, and the $1500 TECII - In N/A, Turbo, Bolt-on Turbo, etc - You can use this kit.

this could work out for you guys, but any programmable ECU is only as good as the programmer. Especially when, as in the case of the UniChip, only the installer is allowed to make modifications. I personally like the ability to screw things up myself, thank you.

and no, there's no straightforward UniChip application for the EJ25 series of engines. I asked them before I bought my TEC-II. The wiring harness and ECU pinouts are completely different from the EJ20 engines and ECUs. That could change in the future, but don't hold your breath.
