Angry Please help me with my brake pad problem really making me mad

Okay here is the deal got new rotors, and am now in the process of getting new brake pads, the car is a 2006 WRX TR with 48K miles on it.
My problem is why is it that no retailer has brake pads they can't even, seem to find any ? .

For, any one that is wondering the front brakes are the ones with the 4 holes in them i found those but the back brakes are a different story, i thought i finally found, some and they where off by like 1/4 of a inch....
Every where i go when i tell them the make year of the car the pads they bring out are so far off it's not even funny, i did call my local subaru dealer.

And he told me with my vin the brake pad's for my car are 05/06 WRX pads i did try 05 pads to with no luck so has any one else had this problem ?....

PS subaru wants 145 bucks for, the back stock pads for my car seems a little high to me ? i don't know maybe i am being cheap lol

first time I've heard of there being a VIN crossover with the 05 sliding calipers in the rear - are you the original owner? the 06 should have the Subaru 4/2 pot setup (it sounds like you *do* have the 4 piston brakes in front)

what do the rear calipers look like?

if they *are* the 2-pots you need FMSI number D461 - this is the same pad as 90-96 Nissan 300ZX rears - if you can't find them listed under Subaru try that - should be lots of aftermarket options (Hawk, Axxis etc.)

The stock pads are overpriced and garbage. Where have you looked? Have you contacted any of the vendors on here? What kind of driving do you do? Are you just looking for OE replacements or do you want something more aggressive? Your pad choice may dictate where you go as not all vendors carry the same brands.

Yes it is the 2 pot back pads that is what 2 subaru dealers told me i was like WTF ?? lol normal driving a little 1/4 track runs here and there stage 2 at 18PSI but it is also a DD.
So i treat it well and yes i am the only owner got it in may of 06...

I picked it off the truck as it came in and drove it home that night it had 2 miles on it when i got it

Something here just isn't adding up.

Have you ever done a brake job on any other vehicles before?

I'm not sure what you're trying to say there.

I can understand getting the wrong pads at a pepboys or an autozone, but from the dealer? If you have a set of pads puchased from the dealer, let us know what the part number on the box is. If it is in fact the part number for the 06-07 wrx rears, than you must be doing something wrong during the install. Maybe they gave you fronts instead of rears?

That link is a random photo that is used by Hawk for every pad it sells.

Now I am really confused as to what the problem is.

This might help
