Not quite final tune:

This one is skewed due to scaling. The real boost was 21.5 PSI and it was at about 20 PSI by ~4000 RPM. It gives you an idea of the lack of boost taper though.

I am confused! so you made 373whp with 21 psi of boost? If so, why such a low boost on E85 and with a build engine? What is the injector duty cycle with 1000cc injectors?

Sick numbers , I want a big turbo

Thanks guys.

Juan, I really just wanted a very laid back and safe tune/build. We could have run more boost I suppose, but 21.5 yielded great results especially considering how hot it was outside (106 degrees). Maybe we'll turn it up when it cools down.

The other issue was that those injectors were getting pretty close to maxed and we obviously didn't want to push them. If I increase my static fuel pressure I should be able to get more out of them, but that will require pretty large upgrades to the fuel system. At 100 psi, I should be able to get well over 1000cc/min out of them. We could prossibly lean the tune out a bit from the. but we wanted to take in safe and reliable.

All I can say is that the car scares the hell out of me. I've ridden in a couple "330 to 350 whp" subies and this feels much stronger in my opinion.

I have JE 8.5:1 compression drop in pistons in my WRX, the compression in my EJ255 is 9.0 with OEM head gaskets. Do you have the 8.0:1 compression JE pistons ?

Is crazy that you are maxing out the 1000cc injectors at such a low boost with a 52lb turbo , I want to run next year a 57lb+ turbo in my car I wonder how big injectors will I need at 1000 ft of elevation.

Take it to the track it should be a mid 11 sec car in the lower side

How do you know your compression ratio os 9.0:1? This is what JE estimated mine was when we called then about this? Are they just blowing smoke I wonder...?

Also, I was suprised about the injectors being so close to max too, but I suppose I don't have much experience with these things. Upping fuel pressure would help for sure. You should expect the same I guess since our elevation's are pretty similar. I've also heard, but cannot confirm, that these injectors flow less than comparable 1000cc units at a give pressure, but when it comes to tuneability, there is no comparrison. They perform very, very smoothly!

And mid 11's ?!? No way! I'm a terrible driver. If I broke into the 12's I'd be pumped! I'm not going out until it cools down a bit.

It was more then 100 degrees in the garage that day. I wanna say your intake temps were up above 110 at one point. It's too damn hot here. Tech the wagon in at 14.0, and take me for a couple rides down the track, just hit the brakes at the end haha.

Cameron at camtuning.com did my compression calculation.

Hmmm... Maybe I should try that.

It would make sense that you could work backwards from the comp test numbers. Maybe I'll work on that this weekend. You've got me very curious becuase you're right, with 8.5:1 pistons and ej257 heads you get 8.5:1 and the ej255 heads are a smaller volume...

I'd really like to see what it does when it cools down. We'll go in October when it's finally 75 degrees at night. Who knows, maybe we'll turn up the boost. I just saw some plots for a DOM 2.0 putting down 400+whp on a mustang at 24.5 psi.

C'mon Ken, I think it's time to let the wagon grow up and break the 400whp MD mark.
