What you are looking for is for someone to say buy it. If you want it, get it. But realize you are taking an expensive chance on an unknown product. My statement is that simple...buy it if you want, but you KNOW the real answer which I won't state.

I already know your opinion from searching about these.

You know I like to make expensive chances and break **** too. Everyone told me, ahhh you cannot split your own block and do dropin pistons that will last when my 2nd motor went a year and a half ago. Well, the block is still fine and has taken more miles and more abuse than 2 stock shortblocks (and the stock blocks were on the VF43). The block will bend a rod or spin a bearing before cracking one of those lands.

I got the info I was looking for. I just wanted to see if anyone was running them. Yeah I am gonna buy one.

I do however want to buy the Kamak TD06 SL2 with the larger 3" inlet. The Kinugawa one is the same price so the USA Kamak distributor may have them as well.

Ebay link for the Kinuwaga

Do it what do you really have to lose...Some rubber off your tires...
Looks promising, Also,"off topic" nice work-I never knew you ran E85 gabe....I love running E with its high octane it is so much safer and all around better than gasoline...The only downfall is miles per tank but hey I filled up last night for 1.94 and premium was 2.72 so its all evens out in my book...

Yeah it is similar to a Green or a DOM3. To hit 400WHP on my 20G I needed meth or E85. And that is pushing the turbo hard. This turbo should satisfy my goals with some room to spare. TQ should be about the same (around 400) so I am not too worried about the clutch, etc. this should just pull better to redline and spool a tad later. Rarely am I below 4000 rpm however and the 20G just ran out of flow up top. Meth / E85 helped with holding power till redline however, but it was running at the bleeding edge of that turbos capabilities.

Yeah I decided to ditch the Meth for E85. I didn't like all the failsafes, etc. Anyone need a meth kit? Lol.

Edit: I think nearly all of us RomRaider guys jumped on the E85 bandwagon. Great stuff!

Gabe,

The STI is great and I love it every day that I drive it, but I still really miss the wagon... I should have the STI paid off here quickly since Im deploying again. Hopefully once thats done Im going to go look for a dodge 2500/3500 since the STI will be a toy!

My plans are to sell the 20g setup and go with a 35r setup with a built motor

I think that should be good!

Every Subaru turbo besides the 16G they sell is 8CM^2. Look at this chart:

http://www.kamakdynamics.com/1_8turbo.htm

And their power sheet is about right on:

Here is a Kinugawa/Kamak) that is exactly like my Blouch (Kamak 0100-821-120):

My wife drives an STI too and has driven a stick for 18 years since I left her in a parking lot in my old GTI and left for the first Gulf War. She killed it a few times and has been doing great since. At one point I bought her a new Audi A4 wagon and we had to shop for a manual.

Interested to see results with this turbo.

Well my results with the 20G are in the "Official Road Dyno" post in proven power bragging. I was just short of 400 WHP. The front mount IC and G/S x-over would have put me there. That was on meth. So I should be able to hit 400 easy with this turbo.

Here is the thread (more people will start posting results once it gets colder out):

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...ight=road+dyno

Here is the top 10 (#5 is actually turboge (Braden @ XPTTuning) on Blouch TD05 8CM^2 20G - 08 STi - E85):

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...06&postcount=2

My TQ is low because I only had one week of meth before the nozzle blew out and that was my third map (I was working on the upper end first). It pulled timing down low (I had it setup to pull more than stock) and had not added back in until after 5k RPM. I have a few logs on meth with lower resolution where I hit close to 400 WTQ, but that was the best power run I had on file.

The ones I had without Meth were a best of 360 WHP and 370ish WTQ. This Kamak turbo should perform like the greens in the list there.

Also, my wife's car (Tess) is in the list. 305 WHP. The road dyno reads like a Mustang dyno (depending on calibration); lower than a dynojet from my experience.

There is your 18G.

His other 18G may be a typo or the Kamak list from their site is more than likely not complete. I contacted him, that is how I found the SL2.

Here is what he is currently selling:

Is it not feasable to buy one and get it rebalanced or is the whole thing rubbish?

Sure you can re-balance it. However they already comes balanced. Typically you want to re-balance a turbo you rebuild.

What? TDO5 20G 8CM^2:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TD05H...Q5fAccessories

If you think a TD06 20G is going to better, you are in for a surprise.

Browse his ebay store:

Just got the ebay message back from the Kamak ebay guys (showed him this thread) and they are the retailer for the Kamak distributor and they can get all the turbos Kamak makes. So more than likely they can get any of those Kinuwaga turbos. I specifically asked about the TDSL02 with the 3 inch and he can get it.
