Default CEL Code: P1090 Tumble generator valve #1 (RH) malfunction (stuck open)

Has anyone had this CEL Code come up for the Check Engine light? I was wondering if anyone knows if this is an easy (cheap) or hard (expensive) fix...

I'd suggest hitting up one of the vendors here and getting some TGV deletes. It's somewhat complex to get to, as you've got to pull off the intake header and gank the old TGV's then put the deletes in... and then you've got to flash the ECU to ignore the TGV codes.

After that, you're golden. And it's a damned sight cheaper than buying new TGV's from the stealerships.

Check the plug on the TGV sensor first. Its the big black thing on the TGV housing.

^This. You might not have the same issue as I did, but I had that code a few weeks ago. I bought some used TGVs, replaced the motor and sensor and the code is gone. I'm eventually using the TGV for a delete or selling them deleted. Replacing the TGV is quite a bit of work. Definitely research if you plan on removing them yourself.

Ahhh, those damn TGVs. I have a consistent stuck open code (P1092, I think..) I've tried replacing the sensors, but nothing works. Car runs fine with the code so whatever. I did at one point have a stuck closed TGV code. This code will throw the car into limp mode, which is not good.

Is your car running like crap with the code you're getting?

I got a question guys, and i dont mean to threadjack, but i didnt think a new thread was necessary. The Girlfriends STi, will randomly throw a CEL. The funny thing is, the Cruise Control light always start blinking when the CEL comes on, then the Cruise Control Doesnt Work. 2006 STi, Intake, TBE, and Cobb AP.

First time: Was passing someone, shifted at redline. CEL and CC Light came on.

Second Time: This Morning, doing some pulls with an EVO, once again, CEL & CC Lights.

She doesnt have the Accessport Module so we can plug it in and read the Code.

Anyone have any ideas? Both times we disconnected the Negative battery Terminal, and the lights went off.

I don't know about the newer models, but my 04 lost it's balls when it threw the TGV code. I was getting passed by soccer moms in mini vans on the highway.

Should have started a new thread. How do you know your problem is TGV related? Next time the CEL goes off get the codes read, write them down, and then we can help you.
