rubber inner wheel well trim repair 2000 OBS
The rear wheel wells on my 2000 OBS have a slit rubber weatherstrip (about 18-24 inches long) that fits over the inside metal edge of the fender and edge of the plastic well. I expect this is to keep out assorted snow/rain etc.
Anyway, the passenger side piece is coming off and dragging on the rear tire. It doesn't look like there are any fasteners so I am assuming the piece is just glued on? Insights and repair suggestions welcomed!

It has some metal in it that is supposed to help clamp it on the lip. The metal can fail causing the trim piece to start falling off.
I agree it may help slow the rusting process though. I would get some Goop (brand name), remove the trim, wash the wheel well and fender lip, let dry, apply the Goop (it's basically a glue) to the edge of the fender and then shove the trim piece back on. You may want to tape/clamp the trim in place while the Goop dries. |
