Default Steering Wheel...

So I went out to WOW this week. It was my first time out on the track. Had a great time. My steering wheel is the stock one, and it is getting worn on one side, I think I may have worn it down to the gross sticky part during my 4 laps. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for fixing that (if it is even possible), or should i just get a new one?

is it worn down or is it have serious build up on a particular section due to it being the most used part.

There are a few detail cleaners that will remove the grime that seems impossible with cheapo walmart cleaners.

more details are needed to fully help

no grime, just worn down from use (~100,000 miles).

Mine got worn out the the sticky part, it will eventually go away, just be ready to have a black driving hand for a while, the only option I could think of was to replace it.

They make these really cool things called steering wheel covers. You can get all kinds of them, ones with flames, Jeff Gordon ones, my favorite is call pooh paradise. Kind of reminds me of 2 girls 1 cup.

Just replace it with one of these. I think they are just a few bucks. Probably cheaper than a stock one. Its actually $25,000!!!

^ Yeah, I'd get that one, but it says Ferrari on it. Does anyone know if it is mandatory to have an airbag in the steering wheel or not? will it pass inspection without (say if i were to go with a sparco or something)

Safety is easy to just pay off.. As far as replacing, they are fairly simple... Just 2 screws that hold on the airbag, unclip the wiring, then its like one bolt to get if off the hub IIRC. Make sure to pull the airbag fuse first though, just in case.
