Default quick wheel painting question

After sanding and before primer is applied, what cleaners are ok to use? I have a few degreasers at home but didn't want to use something that would leave a residue.

Soap and water will do nicely. I helped a buddy sand, primer and paint a set of axis wheels a few weeks ago and thats what we used.
