Default New Motor :d

Well as a few of you know my car has been down due to some of the previous owner breaking the timing belt and selling it before it showed any symtoms (sleepysuby). Tomorrow after 4 months of sitting its finally gets a replacement motor just stock no swap for me but its a jdm ej25d with 35k on it. Well i'm pretty stoked and ready to have my car back.

+1 I don't get it either, broken timing belt and no symptoms, to me it sounds like it broke when you had it which is just crappy luck, can't blame that on anyone

Congrats on the new motor. However I think you need to not place blame on the seller. Not sure how you can have "signs" of a broken timing belt. Its either broke or not.

Well some signs of a timing belt that might be going are stress cracks, a worn out look, low worn teeth. Sometimes it may have nothing to do with the timing belt put a pulley locking up and snapping the belt.

yea but the OP is talking about someone selling a car with a BROKEN timing belt and getting rid of the car before it showed symptoms, which you can't even drive a car with a broken timing belt is what we were all getting at. And what you are describing are showing signs of being worn out not showing symptoms, symptoms are more like if you have a clogged fuel filter and your car stutters or falls flat on its face when you hit the gas. I'm sorry if I come off as a **** but just stating my point of view.

No I get you guys i'm not trying to sound like an ass either I just stated something and they put another one on. When i bought the car it had a missfire code (my mistake for not looking into it more) but the plug wires where worn so I didn't investigate to much further. Either way its running now just need to get autozone to pay out on the warrantied MAF sensor they can't seem to find any reccord on

PS the missfire turned out to be a bent vavle. so yes I guess it did show signs I wrote what small one there was as something it wasn't and yes that is my fault but still some honesty would have been great like hey we broke the timing belt to it needs to be revavled before it gets worse.

So he sold you a engine and did not specifically state what had happened? like you thought the engine was good except for the code, right?

What year car do you have? I have a bunch of 93-95 MAF's around.

And also always run a comp test on an engine before you buy, harbor frieght has cheap compt testers that work just fine.

Thanks
Rick

No, I think your MAF is different from what I have.

I would look in the impreza specific for sale, for you MAF or the whole car part out.
