Default electrical problems...?

when i put the key in, it makes the usual noises, the usual lights come on. When i turn the key, everything goes silent and nothing happens.

And the car was working beautifully just an hour ago. Could this just be a problem with the battery?

Bad ground to the starter or your battery does not have enough amps so the battery might be shot! But I would have your altenator tested to see if thats why it died. GL mayne

either the battery or the alternator
see what the charge is on the battery, it should be around 12.4 v
if its ok there, turn on the car (after charging it) and see what its at. it should be like 14 something
if its lower, your alternator is probably going bad and not charging the battery
if its ok and pulls that much, then something must be drawing current when the car is off (light, ipod, deck, amp, etc.)
