Default R.I.P. my Suby

Just got back from GMR. Went up for a little cruise but things didn't work out as planned. The car has been running like a champ, just got some new rubber on and a buddy wanted to see what it would do in the mountains.

Not a mile into the good stuff I loose power steering and smoke starts billowing in from the floor boards. I pull over and see PS fluid all over the place and flames dancing all over my engine bay.

If only I had a fire extinguisher it could have been put out quick and easy but instead I get to watch the flames get bigger, hotter, and more energetic.

Long story short, my car burnt to the freaking ground and I'm still in a daze as to what happened. I'm sure I'll be more pissed tomorrow but right now I'm like, what next?

THIS SUCKS A BIT

+1 for finding out why it started! This could have been much worse. Is insurance going to cover this or did you tell SOA that your subie almost killed you & you need another one!

Hate to hear that, I had no clue PS fluid was that flammable. When I had EWG I had the high pressure line melt and spray fluid all over my up-pipe and turbo. Hope everything goes as good as it could with insurance and what not.

Sorry for your loss man. I to have watched my own car go up in flames. Also, this is the 2nd Subie in a week I have heard of burning due to a PWR steering leak.
