Default Splitter with help from the State of WY

Well thanks to medamullet I decided to tackle a splitter on my own. I wanted to do it out of alumnium but it so expensive, so a friend of mine who works for the highway department here in Wyoming did a little work and got me this.

So I trimmed it up, layed som black vinyl on one side to to make it look clean. Bolted it to the bumper and subframe and ended up with this. Sorry for the cell pics.

Why does everyone hook them to the plastic on the bumper? I've never understood. Wouldn't you want to hook them to the bumper beam or something thats solid?

mine is.... Most people just want it to look sexy. My turnbuckles hook to the plastic bumper but I have 3 - 4" bolts that hold it to the frame of the car. I can adjust them to push the slitter up and down so there is hardly any stress on the actual bumper.

Thanks guys. Yeah I followed Jason advice and bolted it to the the subframe. So hopefully it's semi functional.

you lazy bastards haha. No pictures. 2 bolds right about directly under the inside corner of the head lights. At each end of a FMIC if you have 1. the 3rd bold is smack in the middle where the old plastic mud guard bolts onto the subframe. They make a small triangle. My splitters are so stiff that I can tighten the splitter up to where it starts pushing my bumper up over my headlights. If you just take off your bumper and look at it you can figure it out. My idea wasn't my first go at it. I have gone through 3 different splitter materials, 2 different edgings, and numerous ways to mount it to the car/bumper. I think I finally have a good design going.
