Default 2010 Kia Venga revealed ahead of Frankfurt Motor Show

Quote:
Poised to be answer to the economic turmoil is Kia’s new Venga. Who says that you have to give up big-car comfort when you want to reduce your carbon footprint? The Europe-built Venga is a mini MPV Kia that measures at 4068mm long and 1600mm tall, with a 2615mm wheelbase. Inside is a sliding rear bench that can also fold flat. Powering the Venga is a choice between 1.4 and 1.6 petrol and diesel engines, producing between 74bhp and 113bhp. All versions are getting start-stop technology. The Venga, which will be launched at the approaching Frankfurt Motor Show, will go on sale early next year. The exterior styling stays true to the No. 3 Concept revealed during the Geneva show. Michael Cole, managing director of Kia UK, said that the Venga, a “flexible package providing big-car comfort and space within a compact package,” is a vehicle fit for motorists as the world emerges from the financial crisis

Did I miss the part where they mention that it is coming to the US?

Cool looking car overall for an econo-box and since it's a hatch, you know it's gonna be WAY more practical than any sedan could possibly be. Very decent interior. This is gonna be tough competition for the upcoming Chevy Spark.

Everything about this car seems nice, can't stand that nasty steering wheel though.

That's a nice looking little car. Needs a little more power to be fun to drive.

KIA's usually need little more than just power to be fun to drive

Default Official pictures of the Kia Venga

Quote:
These are the first official pictures of the Kia Venga, which will go on sale in the UK in February.
The Venga – a mini MPV Kia claims has the space of a Focus with the footprint of a Fiesta - is based on the Soul platform.
The car will be built in Europe and has clever packaging to maximize interior space.
It is 4068mm long and 1600mm tall, with a 2615mm wheelbase, and inside there is a sliding rear bench that can also fold flat.
The Venga will be powered by 1.4 and 1.6 petrol and diesel engines, producing between 74bhp and 113bhp. All versions get start-stop technology.
A Kia source has also told Autocar there could be a "real opportunity" for a hybrid to join the range.
The Venga will be launched at the Frankfurt show and goes on sale in the UK early next year. The exterior styling stays true to the No.3 concept from the Geneva show.
“This is exactly the kind of vehicle UK motorists are looking for as we emerge from the recent economic turmoil – a fantastically flexible package providing big-car comfort and space within a compact package," said Michael Cole, managing director of Kia UK

Give this little guy 170 HP, fender flares and a few other touches and they could have a real winner.

I want a close up of the center console,

I don't even mind the 'I spilled paint all over myself' front seats...

nice to see a sunroof option, not to mention the manual transmission. that's a rarity in this segment.

I like the interior. This should be a home run for Kia.

Nice! The back end is nicer than just about all of the mini hatches in this category.

I always wanted the new Fit to have the huge sunroof, but they kept that for the JDM. Way to go Kia, now bring it here!
