I was wondering which wheel would be better over all?
is there a huge difference between 7.5 or 8?

RPF1's don't come in a plethora of sizes for 5x100. I believe 17x8" +45 is your only choice?

17x8 +45 or +35. going to an 8" wide wheel allows you to go as wide as 245 while it isn't recommend to go wider than 225 on a 7.5" wheel.

Yes. It would really depend on what size tires you want to use. If you're just daily driving and don't need/want the added performance and grip of a wider tire you can save yourself some money going with a 7.5" wheel and running 225 width tires. If you do go with the 8" wide version I'd get the +45 offset. Its only a 3mm difference, but I know first hand that a 332 stoptech doesn't fit under the +48 but it does fit under the +45. Gives you more options if you want to upgrade brakes at some point...or if you decide to sell them and people want to be sure they clear big brakes. |

a 17x7.5 is useless if you want a 'wide' tire, as the widest tire that fits...is a 235/40
you can put a 245/40 on a 17x8...and a 235/40 is GREAT on a 17x8 |

I'm running the 215/45s that came with my car on my 17x8 RPF1s until they wear out. Tire Rack even says that's the recommended size for this wheel (though I have no idea why). I see no reason you couldn't run a 225 if you wanted to, it'd be a better fit than the 215s are. When these 215s wear out I'm going either 235 or 245.

I'd imagine Uncle means that 235/40 will fit perfectly on the rim and have a very squared off sidewall. At least that's what I imagine, seeing as how my 225/50 RE-01R's on stock 16x7's are very much NOT square
