parked overnight and the next day it was throwing a cel. i pulled P0103 Mass air flow sensor circuit high input and P0113 Intake air temperature sensor circuit high input.
starts up, idles and runs fine without any major issues that i could tell. from a quick search it seems like it could a MAF problem, possibly loose or needs a cleaning? haven't gotten a chance to take a look yet, but anyone have similar problems where it was fine one day and all of a sudden the cel goes on with these codes? i've read somewhere that wet weather could cause this to happen, but it's been sunny the past 3-4 days with no rain (90's and humid here in jersey). the car is a 2004 wrx wagon, stock with 82k on the clock.

update: cleaned the MAF, no change in the CEL - is the MAF busted and should I look into picking up a new one?
i did notice the car idling at around 1000 and would drop down to about 700-800 and then rumble back up to 1000. is this normal? |

sounds like a bad maf to me. But it could be other things. Before you blow money on a new maf, if you have a friend in the area, swap his maf in there and see if theres a difference.
Im from jersey but not there now ... but theres plenty of people on nasioc from the garden state if none of your friends are driving a suby |

This sounds an awful like what is happening to me. Upgraded to stage 2 and reflashed using accessport V2. I now have a low idle, throwing codes that say I'm misfiring on cylinder 3 and 4 and no clue how to fix them. Could it be a plug thing??

alright so i just reset my ECU - pulled the negative, pumped the brakes until residual power was gone, and replugged my battery. theoretically this should take off the CEL and it shouldnt come back on until afterwards (driving around for a little while) correct?
however, as soon as i started her up the CEL was on steadily. haven't found anyone to swap MAFs yet though. probably gonna ask one of my friends when he gets back from the beach.. lawl. could this be something other than the MAF? |

+1 for the guy above me, could most definately be an electrical problem with the connection to the maf.
Do you have any friends with a maf you can swap in to check it out? |

It looked as if the plug was forced on and in the process pushed the copper pin out through the back. Worth a look. You may need to ohm out the pins back to the ECU plug if the MAF swap doesn't help. |
