Default not sure what tire to use on my 06 STi

I am deciding on which tire to use on my 06 STi. I am down to three tires and wanted to know what you all think is the best.

BFG KDW2
Hankook V12 evo K110
Nitto N555

Please let me know what you think.

Where are you located? Is it just a DD, or do you plan to AutoX/track?

All 3 aren't what I'd choose, but if they were my only 3 choices, I'd do the KDW. The Nitto N555 is pure poop.

I am located in South Florida and go to Moroso Race way to go to the drag strip every once in a while. I need something that is good in dry and wet weather and will grip good when going to the track.

KDW2 are great dry and wet (surprisingly good wet). They're also good for the drag strip. Their main problem is they get greasy when hot but it doesn't sound like you're doing anything that would really heat them up. They're a good choice with a lot of available sizes. If you're doing something where you need more dry grip in sequential corners though, there are better tires.

the kdw2s hold up pretty well in autox but these were sub-60s runs. and for being 255s, they perform well in the wet but i feel more confident with 255 re01rs in the rain.

if your main concern is dry/wet grip, there are far better tires out there as well as others which are as capable as the ones you listed for less.

Interesting. I've owned both KDW2 and RE01R's and I'd say the BFG's are better in the rain...

Wirelessly posted (Opera/9.60 (J2ME/MIDP; Opera Mini/4.2.14320/554; U; en) Presto/2.2.0)

prolly has a lot to do with buying the kdw2s used with about 6/32 left while the re01rs were bought new.

Should I stick with the 225/45/17 KDW2's or should I go wider. What would you suggest?

What's your suspension? Personally, I avoid anything that drops the gear ratio on my STi. It's too short already. I'd rather have a taller tire than more width. WRX guys would love to throw 235/40/17 or 245/40/17 but they're shorter than stock. You might do 235/45/17 but this matters on your suspension if it'll be painless or not. Taller makes fitment harder.
