Looks like the "anti-awd" crowd has been shot down...

NOT RECOMMENDED
- Stock, exclusion of AWD cars (ref. 09-410, 09-413). Comment: Drivetrain configuration is considered along with a host of
other vehicle attributes when classing cars in Stock.
- Stock, move of MINI Cooper S Works (ref. 09-412). Comment: The SAC does not believe that the performance potential of
the Cooper S John Cooper Works Edition has changed relative to the MINI Cooper S since its initial classing.Ē
- Prepared, AWD vs. 2WD cars (ref. 09-413). Comment: The PAC believes that Prepared classes have accounted for AWD ver-
sus 2WD differences by properly classing cars and adding appropriate weights and/or other restrictions. Currently there are
no issues which would suggest a change.
I just can't believe people actually wrote letters to exclude AWD cars from Stock classes.

Clearly it's because AWD cars are dominating in each of the Stock classes.

That is funny. I wonder if it was just included in one of the anti-R8 letters.

2. Stock: The previously-published initial classification of the Audi R8 has been rescinded due to member feedback, and the
car is placed on the Stock exclusion list effective immediately. Comment: The SAC will be monitoring this carís performance.
At this point the SEB and SAC still do not consider the car to be an overdog in its US configuration, and the intention is to
classify it in SS as of 1/1/2010. (ref. 09-382, 09-398, 09-420)

Wow. They actually took it back.

Possibly, but talk about using a hammer when a scalpel would have worked...

+1 From SS to HS, no AWD car is dominating a single stock class in solo. I can't even think of a single pro solo class that's being dominated by an awd car since Roberts & Carris moved out of AS, and Kraus moved out of L1.

I didn't know there was a movement to keep AWD cars out of stock. I thought they were just trying to lump us all into BSP and then rename it to AWDSP or something. After all, AWD is far more important than suspension, weight, or power.

I suppose you're right, but in my case, I think AWD is more important than driving ability. ;-)

There are more poorly written letters by misinformed people than there are good ones. They (SEB/ACs) would not be doing their job if they just round-filed a letter because it contained "stupid" content.

Ask for the world, settle for the exclusion list.

Just making room for the following class structure:

A Corvette Stock
B Corvette Stock
A Corvette Prepared
B Corvette Prepared

you get the idea......
