Default Anyone want some cheap 235/40 17 Eagle F1's?

check ebay- I just bought 4 for $271 shipped and insured and there are more available. Buying two sets was tempting, but just not practical.

I was kinda worried about the quality/validity, but there are several vendors selling them for really cheap. Someone else had sets of two for like $160 or something. Also, the auction made it a point to say that they weren't blems or anything and that they were first quality tires. Finally, I did a search and found mention of tirerack selling them for $49 apiece a few months ago, so I just assume that some supplier out there is finally clearing out all their stock. I'll update you guys when the tires get here.

I was actually one of the people that got the Eagle F1 GS-D3's a few months ago for stupid cheap. The reason being that they were produced a little while ago, and they wanted to clear them out. They drive AWESOME, and are also great in the rain. You won't be disappointed. I am aware of the old tire horror stories and how you can check what year they were produced in by looking at the code on the side of the tire. I think it's the month, then the year?

emailed seller, they said MY2005, it's fine. May not be the freshest rubber out there, but it's still well within the 10 year replacement rule most tire manufacturers list for their tires.

I had them before and they make A LOT of noise near its limit, and sometimes below the limit. I also thought they were good, till my mechanic told me it was like 2 steps below what I have now (Potenza Re-01R). I didn't believe him. But then later on I hit a nail and it couldn't be repaired. Ordered the Bridgestones and the difference was unbelievable. Grips way more in the dry and has a higher handling limit. Both have great grip in the wet. Back then the GSD3s went for $170 and the S-03's/Re-01R's went for $180.

But yah, if they are stupid cheap, then by all means get them. But back then, $170 was too much for the GSD3's when there were other choices that were much better for only $10 more.

Got mine today. They look awesome. I'm going to go find out how to check the manufacture date and I'll get back on here an post it.

Edit: The only thing I can find that looks like a date is 0905, which I assume is sept 2005. Where did you get yours that are made in 07?
