Thumbs up Godspeed downpipe installed.....

Received the godspeed downpipe.....

Quality is great, welds nice and clean..... no complaints.

Installed it this morning, ran into a few problems....

The 2 studs for the up-pipe were in the way because the flange on the new downpipe is so much thicker then stock.
Pulled the studs out..... grinded them down.... worked like a champ!

Now on the other end of things......... I have the Tanabe SRM catback, made to be used with the stock downpipe... 2-1/4 pipe I think....... so 3" pipe into 2-1/4 pipe...... well that didnt work out..... so I had a little leak.......... got some muffler mender crap at discount autoparts........ sealed it all up, problem fixed..... for now.

The only other thing that was a pain was the bracket welded on the downpipe was way off from bolting up to the DP bracket on the car....... ( I guess this is there to help it from moving around, not sure) so a little modification was needed.

Took her out for a test drive........

HOLY *****!!!!!!!!
Needed to turn down the SBC-iD........
Spool time is much sooner and faster.....
Car pulls so much harder in all the gears....GREAT top end...
OH, and one more thing.... She backfires like a mudafugga....

Mods to date...

TurboXS BOV
AEM CAI
Vishnu Super Up-Pipe
Godspeed Downpipe
Tanabe SRM Catback
Blitz SBC-id

Damn, I'll be installing mine soon...don't like to hear about the fitment issues. I'm not the most experienced person when it comes to trying to custom fit pieces. I am bolting my downpipe up to a 5Zigen catback....hopefully I don't run in to any problems.
Can't wait for the power though!

I just installed a godspeed downpipe yesterday. No issues with the fit at all. The bracket lined right up and the uppipe studs did not interfer at all. I should mention that it was a godspeed uppipe as well. Great vendor and great product. My car pulls much harder and sounds like a frickin' race car!

Just to let people know if you have a 5Zigen catback you can not use the factory gasket where the downpipe connects to the 5Zigen. If you do it will leak. I had to use some type of donut gasket, since the godspeed doesn't have a donut-style flange.

Default Godspeed Downpipe install issues

Hi,

I just installed my downpipe yesterday and I had a few problems with the fit.

1. I had a very hard time mounting the top of the downpipe to the factory turbo, the bolt pattern must have been slightly off.

2. The small bracket that hooks to the tranny support does not fit very well. I needed to take the bracket off from the tranny and intall it after the downpipe was on.

3. Downpipe flange does not mate to factory midpipe? I was told to use high temp liquid gasket. I see this being a problem soon.

4. The angle of the muffler is now off and not straight when viewed from the back. Either the bracket or the flanges probably have somthing to do with this.

Aside from the above issues the quality of the downpipe and welds look great! I have yet to drive it because I wanted the silicone to dry.

I'm going to call Dan and see if he can help with the above issues because I know there are many customers w/o any fit problems at all.
