Default AP V1 ECU lock? V1 override old V1 map AFTER V2 install and uninstall.

Can you override an old V1 marriage with another V1?

I bought a car with an APV1 married to the ECU but then had the programmer stolen. Later I married a V2 to the car, used it for a while.. then unmarried the V2 before moving out of state while the car just sat. Now I don't know if the V2 wiped out the old V1 information when the V2 was later unmarried.. I'm about to buy a V1 and need to know if it's going to work!!

Sorry for the confusion but I figured someone would know.

When you uninstall the v2 it returns the ECU back to a stock state so the v1 should install properly. However, I would really just go for the v2 again as the v1 is discontinued and we are very near a point when we will be unable to service the v1 as parts are no longer available for this product. To answer your question, there should be no lock on your ECU.

Travis, thank you so much for your timely response and answering all my questions. I was thinking along those lines as well, and will probably end up going the V2 route once again.

I hope this thread will help others with similar issues. I didn't have any luck finding specific information with the search button.

Thanks again!
