Well, we're about to see what happens when they have a dissatisfied owner. They did an oil change about a week ago, and when they did this oil change, they proceeded to dump out some "extra" anti-freeze in the overflow tank. I just started to notice that my car now overheats. Badly. Let's see what they have to say on the subject, and what they are going to do to rectify the situation. I'll be posting an update once I find out what they do.

Default Update

They claim that they didn't do anything wrong, and that the reason I'm overheating is flexing in the fan. The fan still works, but they say that there is too much play in it. I went and saw Steve, and he said that the head gasket is blown. Just seems like too much of a coincidence, and when they changed the oil, if the head gasket were already blown, why didn't they tell me that they found water in the oil? Makes me wonder. This is going to be one hell of an expensive lesson in who to trust with simple things like oil changes in my Subaru. I hope no one else gets screwed like this.

Roo ~

yuck. i was kind of considering maintenance issues in my potential coming purchase.

i'll have to keep looking into that aspect, especially with regard to dealer servicing, since i'm not too familiar with subarus.

I hope for the best for your car,...

-Kelly

Smile Another Update

Well, I can't believe what has happened. I guess that this was just a weird sort of thing, being as I have driven this for about a week, and it's never overheated since. I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth, but she's running just perfectly again, like nothing ever happened.

Will post if anything changes.
