Question re30's

Hey guys, I've been searching and searching on here and can't quite come up with a solid answer for my situation. I saw these on eBay and was wondering if they would fit on my 06 STi.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Volk-...Q5fAccessories

I'm not worried about clearing the brakes, I'm more worried about clearing the suspension. I've got stock struts with JDM pinks. I just want something with a bit of a dish to it. Thanks in advance for yet another oh so common fitment question thread.

Flame on!

they will clear the suspension and brembos with ease, but you will have to do some fender work to prevent rubbing.

Does that mean that the tires will be flush with the fenders or do you think they'll stick out past the fenders? Sorry for my noob-ness when it comes to offset q's.

You will need to roll the fronts. Roll/trim and possibly pull ther rear. Add camber to both. STi pinks are pretty soft too, might still get rubbing when loaded. Some RCE yellows will help a little if you don't want to run coilovers. How wide of tires will play a factor too. After all the necessary steps you will have a bad ****ing ass setup. Those aren't dished either.

Wirelessly posted (Opera/9.60 (J2ME/MIDP; Opera Mini/4.2.14320/866; U; en) Presto/2.2.0)

jdm pinks are different from sti pinks. jdm pinks are rated at 252/217 iirc. how much fender work and camber depends on the tire size you want to run, which will also affect how flush the wheel and tire are in relation to the fender.

Duh, I meant JDM Pinks. Still pretty soft though.

What kind of offset would I be looking at if I wanted to get a decent dish without having the wheel stick out past the fenders? My ideal situation is to have the spokes in more than the dish, if that makes any sense. Maybe like a +50 offset? Is there anyway to run a 17X9 +50 or am I going to run into issues then with clearing the Brembos?

the title says 18 and the description says 17 on the ebay ad.

either way, if you're looking for dish a 17x9.5 +40mm will have a nice amount of dish.

you wont be able to get that to fit on springs though.

you wont see a real dish on RE30's till you go to 9.5" or wider.

the higher offset 8.5 and 9's actually have a convex face for caliper clearance.

Is this because of the spring pearches?

no, the spring perches are not in the way at all.

you'll rub on your fenders constantly without a much stiffer suspension and fender mods.
