Default new audio system

So i was trolling the classifieds and came across something that i have been waiting to find for a long time now.. another amp to match what i have. Im picking it up tonight and now my mind is working on the new setup. And before anyone asks no i dont care about the weight i like bumps in the trunk

Anyone have a hookup on fiberglass, resin, and assorted goodies? Im going to be building some boxes for the subs and would rather give the cash to someone on here then home depot or the like.

I get my stuff from them. They're inexpensive, and their resins and catalysts are always fresh (unlike what you find locally that's been sitting on a shelf for a year or so; I'm a chemist, so I won't get into the geekiness of all this, but you NEED fresh resin and catalyst. Resins auto-oxidize, the catalyst is a peroxide and decomposes with time). Reasonable shipping rates and loooots of different glasses to choose from. And, best of all, when I started doing fiberglassing, I had some questions, so I called them. They're really friendly and willing to help; far more so than I expected.

If you must go local, go to a marine supply place for your resin and catalyst; it'll likely be better quality than what you'd find anywhere else. At all costs, avoid the auto repair and "house depot" type stores; their 'glass products are overpriced and low quality, and have probably been on the shelf for a long, long time.

Curiosity strikes me: what amp were you waiting around so patiently for, what do you already have, and what are your plans?

good info thanks ill check them out.

im currently running a rockford fosgate bd1000 and 2 Fosgate Power HX2 15's. the amp i found is another bd1000(getting it for $70) so i will be pushing around 1300W to each sub. As far as the box/boxes go i want to make most it out of fiberglass and try to keep it in the forward 2/3 fo the trunk(up by the back seat) but not exactly sure on the exact look yet.

That's what I'm doing on my latest build. I'm hoping to start glassing this weekend, in fact. I'm sticking 2 12's (stereo Integrity SI Mags) against the rear seat, angled to match the seatback angle. The baffle will be 1.5" birch plywood, with the rest fiberglass. I'm also going to try to leave about a 3" space under the box so that I can mount my amps underneath the box to keep the majority of my trunk free. Not sure that'd work in your case, though; you've got a lot more power in your trunk.

Good luck and if you have any questions or need a hand, post up or PM me. Can't wait to see your end result...

I should have used US composites instead of The Home Depot to get all of my fiberglass stuff for the sub box and the diffuser I'm gonna build. Oh well.
