Well, ever since I purchased these wheels I've had some strange vibrations in the steering wheel. At first, I thought it was just my wheel bearing getting worse, but I replaced it and my problems persisted. I thought I had just dropped a weight since it was just some vibration at 50+ mph, so I drove like that for maybe a month and just today I took it into the shop to have it rebalanced, and it turns out that the wheel has a side to side wobble that can't be balanced out with the static machine.
Not a big deal, I'm just driving on rotas. However, the particular set of rotas I have seems to be extra rare. I need a 5x100 17x7.5/et48/56.1mm Rota Subzero in White, which I can't seem to find for sale anywhere. Is a somewhat bent wheel fine to drive on if I throw it in the rear so it doesn't shake the steering wheel? If not, what should my course of action be?

Is the wheel actually bent? I see that they said it couldn't be balanced out on a stantic machine, but did the shop say anything about a road force balance? I would find a shop with a Hunter Road Force balancer and call them about it.

yeah, the wheel is clearly distorted, you can see the tire shaking from side to side when it's being spun on the balancer

Are there any wheel repair shops in your area that you could contact? I would also suggest contacting Rota and/or the guys at wheeldude.com to try and find a replacement.

I'm actually really considering getting those et20 ones, but I know I'd have to pull my fenders. |
