Default Need help picking tires

I will be getting 16" WRX wheels for this but I can't decide between the Hankook Ventus R-S2 Or the General Exclaim UHP

Opinions?

i would go with the hankook's. for that price, you cant beat them. they handle on par ( or very close to) the falken azenis RT615. i ran them for a couple years and was very happy with them.

The Exclaim UHP is not a performance tire.

The UHP is a great touring tire. Quite, nice ride, great in the rain, and very light but it's not a performace tire. I had them on my WRX and was not very happy with them when pushed, but they work great on my wife's 06 LGT which is not driven hard.

Uncle Scoty is as usually brief ;-)
What do you want from your tires? Tell us and Scotty might be more verbose.

What size fits your 95 Legacy?
I bought Hankook V12 Evo (a notch lower in performance than Ventus RS2 [or RS3] but higher in comfort and probably wet).

Uncle Scotty, how good is RS2 in wet?

I have a set of Goodyear Eagle GT's and I love them. Dollar for dollar I think they are hard to beat

Well it wont matter what fits the legacy (14" wheels) because the only tires going on them are snow tires only.. these tires I'm looking for will be 16" WRX wheels.

those v12 tires are very likely MUCH better than the rs2 in every way

i liked the rs2, but they were a 'flawed' tire is several respects....good but not great......ok in the wet....didnt like a lot of negative camber or pressure, spun easily on launch, 'twitchy' under hard braking

I can rephrase my question ;-)

Size does matter in tires. Some are simply unavailable in particular size.
What tire sizes are you thinking about for your 95 Legacy with 16" WRX wheels (if I got all the details OK)?

Per tirerack you are looking for 205/50-16.

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/TireSe...nSpeedRating=S

What about Star Spec? It is 98.00 but with 50.00 mail in rebate it would fit within your budget (75.00 in Amazon gift certificate).

For 68.00 Hankook RS2 are hard to beat.

picked the tire off the UPS truck before I left the job lol I order so much the driver came up to me to let me know it was here.

but nice looking tire.. It's my first summer tire I guess the short threads give it more grip? Can't wait to mount them when I can find a decent price for a set of used wrx wheels. Someone must have some 2002 wheels for cheap...
