Default I Hate Neons

Driving to my mother-inlaw's place to day, with my wife and kid, and a lightly modified neon pulls up to me and trys to cut over on me before his lane ends. I ended up in front of him and I was driving the speed limit, this guy was riding my butt the whole entire time. Then to make this guy more of a butt he goes and passes me in a no passing lane with head on traffic not too far away. Too make this guy even worse, his ugly primate girlfriend flicks me off when they finally pull off.

Sorry just needed to vent some. Some people just dont know when to give up and sit back and enjoy a nice ride.

Im with you. Im getting to hate every type of car in that class these days. People trying to drive like race cars, but only driving like idiots. Mustangs, however, are the ones that get most of my hate these days. Neons as well as accords ad a whole lot of mozdas get quite a bit as well.

I find that ignoring them pisses them off even more. You are always going to have douchebag drivers no matter what kind of car it is.

Talking

Heh, eh I don't let those people get to me. But there was this one time I was coming into town on my way home and a fairly busy intersection the traffic lights were out. 4 lanes on the road I was on and a 2 lane crosses it. Traffic's pretty backed up on my way in so I stop and let people pass on the smaller cross roads while waiting for the line in front to make some room for me.

2 Big SUVs starts pulling forward slowly in the 2 lanes ahead of me; looks like I've got room so I move forward without blocking the intersection, so I do so. the SUV on the right (in my lane) stops suddenly but the one on the left keeps moving. drat. So I get up as close as I can to make room for the cars to cross behind me. A car in my lane behind me rolls right on up and blocks everyone from crossing. whatever..

We're not moving. A Volvo runs right up to me from the cross road and starts blaring his horn and flashing his brights at me. I'm like hmmmm.. okay. I can't move. nobody's moving. I'm only like 1/3 of the way blocking the intersection the car behind me is blocking the larger part. lol. whatever.

He continues to honk his horn at me for 2 minutes. I find it pretty darned amusing. My lane finally starts moving again. I start moving and then this guy in the Volvo actually hits the gas pedal and slams his brakes like he's going to hit me or something.. He looked like an angry Austrian or something he was piiiissed. He wanted to go in front of me to cross the road. ?.. I know he saw me laughing at him. what a nut.

That's funny, moonzie! I'm often tempted to be extra cautious in such situations. I can't tell what the irrational folks are going to do, so I think it's best to start moving extremely slowly and deliberately.

I agree, neons are garbage and then some drivers think these cars are the shiz-nit, well there are not especially the srt-4's. neon shares engine components with mitsubishi, more garbage, and they can be quick but it is still a dodge/mitsubishi garbage.

I also encountered one day here in new jersey a lady in a large mercedes, whatever class, that decided to tailgate because no reason. It was a single lane and there was mad traffic and i was stuck on line as well. since i was cruisin around 40mph, i decided to engage the cruise control and all of the sudden, this lady decided to attempt pass me causing me to go the shoulder becuase she almost hit another car head on. well i said well she looks like a conceded bitch in a nice car, let me eff with her. I know this was wrong, I decided to pass her on the shoulder where she tried to floor it but the turbo came to the rescue and I smoked her. She was pissed and to finish her off, I slowed to 30mph and every time she wanted to pass, I gunned the baja, I effed her for atleast 15 miles. I was proud of the baja to beat that stuck-up lady in her nice car. Payback can be a bitch. It was for her.

I agree about mustangs, their drivers always think they're better than you. And they always say "there's no replacement for displacement" and I always tell them "Yeah, That's what she said." Then they get all angry and I laugh.

When you have some butthole tailing you, just hit your brakes every now and then, theyll back off real qick, or they will hit you, and you sue theire butholing ass. Remember the guy in the rear is usually at fault.

Has anone else thought of doing some kind of nudge bar/ bull bar/ roo bar for the rear bumper ?

Umm ... come to think of it, isnt it called something else entirely when its on the rear end ?

I only ask because I am in the process of getting side steps, and front bar done and was contemplating the rear. If not just for tailgating idiots, then also as a place to mount some rear facing lights for backing up in the bush. Just not sure how it would look or how I would have it formed up for a rear bar.

I think a any bar on the rear of the baja would be horrendous. Adding this extra protection is pretty much useless because no bar is going to protect a impact escpecially a subcompact vehicle like the Baja. In my opinion, it's a no go.
I do like the light bar that is available but it is not one of priorities yet.

your thinking of something like this:
rear bumper guard

i think it would look sweet, but i can see the difficulty in designing one because i don't know how close the rear plate is to the bumper or the clearances with the tailgate down.
