Is this fixable? I have little to no knowledge about wheels....

Not that a back story is important, but I ran over a 1/2 brick on the highway.

Hey jonnyh,

I had one that was in worse condition. The shop I took it to was able to fix it. And mine was cracked pretty bad. Take it to a rim shop and see what they say. I am sure it is repairable. If not, since it was road hazard claim it on insurance and buy a new one.

Nice paper weight/coffee table.

Some one may be able to straighten it, but no way will they be able to restore the heat treat. Next time it will fold up like a taco shell...

Both. Anything more than a little bend should just be thrown away. It's a forged rim. You shouldn't be repairing damage that is that bad.

A little curbage is obviously fine, but like Web Foot said, it will fold up like a taco shell next time you hit something.

Indeed.

But I was just saying that the local shop said it, my damaged rim, was irreparable.
