Default Opinions on a good single din HU

Looking to replace all the bulky **** in my camaro (1.5din) and so single din is easiest and lightest and I can ditch the ancient 12 disc changer and such.

just haven't been in the brands for awhile so whats good out there? I have 6 speaker 2 tweaker setup so ... ya is that a 8 speaker setup then? Im really a noob for this ****.

I love my Eclipse. It's a great unit, with good power, and a nice set of options.
Imho, stay away from Sony crap.

mother**** alpine....every alpine i have owned (4 of them) have crapped out after a couple years. They're awesome when you get them, but a year or two down the road the buttons stop working, the lights burn out, they start having trouble playing cd's with the slightest scratch.....

so yeah, they make awesome stuff, it just doesn't last...so mother**** alpine!

I would, but that would entail putting the non working car on the trailer, and that's a lot of work. Or I could get my **** together and finish putting it all back together...

alpine makes good speakers, there head units are pretty good too. i've never had any problems with them. your man jeff probably buys the $69 special.
stay far away from sony.

rockford makes good underrated amps. visions has wicked sales on alpine amps. perfect for mids and tweets.

jl makes really nice amps too.

clarion's high end hu's are good, and usally reasonably priced.
hit me up if u need help with the install.

btw, kenwood sucks the fat one

I'm a fan of anything (Pioneer) Premier, had one for nearly 6 years and it still works like the day I got it... No need to replace it. Also, High pass filters are FTW

Sony/Kenwood/JVC/Panasonic = fail.

Something like this? http://www.crutchfield.com/p_130P410...B.html?tp=5684

just found out my car is a wonderful monsoon setup, so everything I consider wont really work, unless I
a) replace with monsoon junk
or
b) replace EVERYTHING!

looks like Im stuck for now.

lots and lots of reading last night and I can replace the HU

also I can replace the speakers but they're all weird and need research.

front doors are woofers and seperate tweeters so I could replace them I just have to wire up the woofer/tweeter seperately.

was thinking

either http://www.crutchfield.com/p_108609C...pa-60-9cs.html

or

http://www.crutchfield.ca/ProductDet...6529I&CartID=1

the middle speakers in the B pillar are actually 6.5" subs or midbass woofers.

and the rears are 4" components
