Question SM... or FP?

After reading the 2009 Solo Rule Book and searching in the Sticky Solo Rules for whats legal in SM, I do have some questions in regards to the exhaust and Turbo.

In SM it is legal to PnP your headers, up-pipe and even use Ceramic Coating or Heat Wrap? But you can't do any work to the Turbo itself, but you can put a different turbo on the car? (i.e you can't PnP or Ceramic coat the turbo)

So if you do PnP the turbo and Ceramic coat it this will put you straight into FP?

Thanks

SM lets you do anything to the exhaust and the turbo. Even ESP/BSP (WRX/STI street prepared classes) have open exhaust, you just can't change the turbo/PNP/Coat it.

What else do you have done though as your profile car isn't a standard USDM make.

My car has v9 GDE MY05 STi Spec C Type RA Engine.

Mods to engine:
K&N Typhoon SRI
PnP & Ceramic Coated IHI VF36 Turbo
Clark tuned

Everything else is left stock for that engine, I plan to do a Turbo Inlet and bigger injectors which is all SM legal.

I am relieved to hear that my PnP Turbo & Ceramic coat doesn't push me up to FP as that would just not be fun anymore.

Unless you have an awesome suspension, diff, and aero setup, SM isn't going to be much fun either. In your area you have Jared Hoops and Andrew Lieberman who co-drive Jared's Nationals winning SM EVO. Good luck.
