Default Please help recover Stolen 2004 STI

My friends 2004 STI was stolen today (Friday, around 7PM from the Marshalls parking lot on RT1, West Windsor.

i removed the descriptions and monetary offer for the recover of the car... my friend took the insurance money and is now getting... a SUV!!??

if anyone looked around for the Blue STI, thanks for your efforts... i still want to find the person... but most likely the car is in Zimbabwe by now.
THanks,

the 04 and earlier models keep getting jacked, it's really unfortunate

yea. rich town, most likely sandwiched between two bad parts of jersey. not to mention i can get from the tip of northern jersey to the bottom in like 2 hours.

so yea, ANYWHERE in jersey is subject to auto theft. and it usually happens in a nicer part of town cause thats where the nicer cars are.

Default search party?

i know this sounds corny especially coming from a 34 year old... but what else is there to do other than sitting around flipping burgers!!

for now, 4 of us are going to Philly around 12PM, just to cruise around... you never know... it is a big city and like previous posts state, the car could be in baltimore, Florida by now, or China... but it could also be in Philly serving as a money maker street racer an during the day parked in some dumb asses driveway... since we got nothing better to do, we're just going to cruise around philly, hoping that the thief is running out to wendy's at the same time we're driving the opposite direction!! ... imagine that...
if anyone is up for the drive... i can record the highway cruise and post it on Youtube... or something.

I'd think it would be more likely to be in the Oranges than in Philly.

We'll keep our eyes open in PA, tho!

Worth a try, especially if you got nothing else to do. Pick up some cheese steaks and cruise around with your eyes peeled. Also helps that the car is pretty distinctive.

I'll keep my eyes peeled up here in Upstate NY on the off chance it's around. That really sucks, it's sad when your pride and joy gets taken from you and you can't do a damn thing about it.

yeah it is and it seems like no one can stop them.
ive been watching that tv show "jacked" and it seems like they get a good number of people but truthfully nothing is stopping the thefts around any good parts of nj.

it pisses me off that west windsor/princeton/etc is one of the nicer townships in nj but its also one of the most inactive. so as cops are pulling people over in 35mph zones for speeding there are thefts just going around jacking cars -.-

i was talking to my dad about this earlier last month about why i didnt want to drive the sti over to menlo and we were better off taking the corvette. he agreed with the cars getting stolen and basically told me that even with lojack etc, the cars just get stripped and sold into pieces. he used to live in brooklyn and told me that cops would always have a chance of finding stolen vehicles at small body shops where they take them apart after closing hours =/

i couldnt imagine my bianca(my sti) getting stripped down and sold on the black market!

haha... saw a few STI's in philly and asked some car guys, no on saw it.
i did the cheese steak bit in the winter with no jacket all for nothing!!! i asked before i got in line and both the owner and people stated there were no sesame seeds and there were a few!!! i'm highly allergic... so i ended up just eating the meat and cheese and made in mess in the car!!!

Ebay and craigslist. Search there and hope the parts show up. You'll see a lot more of this now that the bugeyes are cheap enough to be the new civic. The same crowd that was stealing integras to swap into civics is now stealing STIs to swap into bugeyes.

Any security measures done to the car? Any of the subies w/o the chipped key (and even the 05s with the chipped keys) should have at least some kind of non-generic security done to them.

Shame it got stolen, but it's probably chopped up in Newark or the Oranges by now.
