Defense really got it going from the 2nd qtr. on. A couple of catches were made, that helps. UW could have had more points, but a couple of penalties brought back big gains. Should score more than 15 points at Cal next week.

Not a good win. Cal was flat, one dimensional, and not exactly known for a killer D. If they don't watch out, the cougs will crush their hopes and dreams.

It was a great win. Road game, had to win to keep bowling hopes alive, spectacular long pass play to get close to score, last second chance to score and get the TD for a win! Great game. doesn't have to be great teams to play an exciting game.

To sum up this season between the two teams:

Sept- Huskers show up, Huskies don't
Dec- Huskies show up, Huskers don't

Next year will hopefully have both teams show up to play each other. Yes, I'm a Husker fan, but have believed they were over ranked this year. And having their QB out/injured for the second half of the season didn't help build the chemistry needed to have a better season. Besides, they shot themselves in the foot with such a lack of discipline for penalties and turnovers, which has become a hot topic in Huskerland.

Not making excuses because the Huskies showed up, but I hate seeing two teams in a bowl game rematch. It seems the loser ends up winning more often. I do root for the Dogs when they are not playing the Huskers. It's good to see the Huskies' program turning around.

The Huskies sure have a hard time scoring points at times. First half last night looked like some of their games before their recent winning streak. They do seem to realize the importance of defense, and keep the pressure on.

Early game time on Sunday will not help them. Real challenge for them.
