There are meets in Milwaukee too. Right now the ice is less than 9" thick on Winnebago, so we are waiting to see what plays out in the next week or so. Check www.fvscc.com for ice racing info. Check the forums on there too

I don't think there's greyhound here. I'll have to see. How does that work? Does the person just arrive at the scheduled bus arrival time?

No. The bus station calls the person and holds onto the item. They can pick it up at their convenience. I picked up my exhaust a couple days after it arrived and it was shipped Greyhound

You drop it at a station. They address which station it needs to go to. Pay the shipping and leave a phone number for the recipient. The station calls when it arrives.

There should be a greyhound in Rockford by the hotels? I know it's a van galder drop station.

I believe packages are automatically insured for a specific amount as well right off the bat.. I typically increased it if needed as it was still very reasonable.

I've shipped/received lots of parts via Greyhound Package Xpress -- Hoods, bumpers, skide skirts, exhausts etc. Cheap, Reasonable Prices and Decent transit times - Never had an issue with damage either.

Definitely sounds like it's the way to go. I'll have to travel to Rockford or Aurora but that sounds like it's a ton cheaper than UPS. How much is UPS typically? Over $150 isn't it? Also, would I still have to box it up and such? How does that work?

Thanks everyone for your help!

I bubble wrapped the snot out of everything. Take a look at the measurements they list online before you go to be safe but you should be good unless things changed.

I used them lots years ago so rates could have changed but I don't think I ever paid more than 150 with tons of insurance.

BTW, at TNT getting the front Windows tinted on the Nitro,.don't they give repeat business discounts anymore? Lame.

There is a greyhound station near the Dells/Baraboo. We take the inmates there all the time when they are released to society.

Well, I took delivery of the WRX this afternoon, earlier than expected. My first jaunt was down Buckeye from where I live near Sprecher, and sure enough a blue late model hatch WRX or STI (I was kind of spaced out at the time in my own little WRX world) passes me going the other way near the PDQ, eyeballing me hard the whole way and then flashes me the V sign. Sorry dude with the shaved head and chin beard, I had my hands full and completely failed to give you back the devil horns. My bad--I'll get you next time!

Sounds like you live near me, I'm on Copernicus in Grandview Commons. Husband had my car yesterday but he would never wave like that.

Did someone say they were going to the WAG event on Sunday? Fox Valley is postponing their first race, and I won't be able to drive out to LaCrosse on Saturday.

WAG event already has their 60 participants, with about 11 on the waiting list. You could go and watch though.

Looks like we'll have at least 5 in our group going to watch and 2 to compete. The rally car is expected to be there, too!!

Would Jan 29th or Jan 30th work for everyone in regards to a Great Dane Subie meet? (New East location on Jupiter Dr)

Thoughts are we would need to go before the normal rush hits for supper, they seem to be uber busy almost all the time -- Maybe a mid-late afternoon meet for beers and food?

New timing belt, drive belts, water pump, thermostat, fuel filter, rear diff lube, cleaned the air filter, and blasted all the salt out of the wheel wells and off the underside. Fixed my massive exhaust leak too. Just need to do the spark plugs and pcv and my 10/100 service will be done (excluding trans oil. Not doing that until the clutch goes...and that may be soon).

Feels so new again.
