Spacers: I'm still evaluating options and talking with other 2011 owners who have done this exact setup. Daily drivers and a couple who race more competitively than I do.

Bearings: I am also looking for people who have run into issues and what the circumstances are. You know I won't do a "hold m' beer and watch this" solution.

(Side note, I would love an explanation as to why a 9.5" 38mm offset with a 5mm spacer is different/better/worse than a 9.5" 43mm without one) I understand it's the whole lever/fulcrum thing but I've never been able to get my head around it...

This is a 5mm and only to make it fit from a Brembo standpoint - you need just a hair to clear them. I would not cheap it out either and know to regularly check the torque - especially on race day. (I check regularly anyway)

As for changing the studs it's a piece of cake. Well, in the front anyway. LOL... I believe it actually only requires pulling the rotors and not the hub.

He has the 8.5" 44 Offset in stock, I'll probably end up going that way. You know me. LOL

Shannon:: Do you work tonight? If not, is there a way I can drop a check on your desk or something and secondly do I make the check out to you personally or to Don Miller?

Figured we could swing on by tonight on our weekly trip to Hooters for wings and beer

Good for customers to know, but bad for other dealerships to know about it.

When you pull the rotors off, the studs are behind them in the hub. If there is enough room to press them out without taking off the hub, then you are golden. (that is ..if the new studs fit behind, too) I don't think this is the case, however. An alternative would be to drill out a hole in the dust cover and pop them out through there one at a time. You'd need to find a hi-temperature plug for that hole when you are done so debris doesn't get stuck back there. (probably my next project)

The offset/spacer numbers you gave come out exactly the same, so one isn't going to be better than the other as long as you have a minimum of 6 rounds of thread to bolt onto (per H&R spacer instructions). Try popping a wheel off and putting 5mm worth of washers behind and count the number of turns the nuts will take if you're not sure. The 44mm offset sounds like a much better idea, though.

I'll be working till 8pm. You can make the check out to me 'Shannon Marcott' since I'll be paying the invoice. If I'm out on a drive, you can leave it with "Johnny K." Hope I'm around when you get here, though. Haven't seen you in awhile.

Wow. Have to say I am highly impressed with how well the Star Specs handled the severe downpouring rain and wind. I didn't really think they would do that well. Was trying to get home for the puppies and actually had to drive around six trees in the road and avoid much more debris. Got about an eighth of a mile from home and couldn't get around a tree and had to backtrack and reroute. I have never been on the road in that kind of weather in my life. Katie was about to have a nervous break down in her CR-V.

Best thing to do this late is just print up what you can hand out. Print up a few to hang on bulletin boards at parts-shops and wherever else you think people will see them. If you can get about 20 of them to me I'd be fine. I could pick them up tomorrow since I'll be on that side of town earlier in the day.

I guess I'd be wondering if any of the other posters would like flyers to hand out and put on windshields. Nasioc members can pick them up right there on the west side.

urgh...dam cars....had the sometime to be wifeys car in for service a week a go now and NOW the car throws codes.... granted all the service that was done needed to be done plus/minus the crank sensor, but it is a mitsu engine in her cirrus (v6 2.5L). so when the first set of codes came up i read them and saved the data and took it down to where we had it serviced, and checked it there with their snap-on diag tool, but it didnt tell us much more so we reset everything and any learned values and said if it comes back to stop by again...

well it came back on and it threw the same codes in the same order as well, but now they want to run diagnostics on it for a fee of course, which neither of us have...dam i wish i could just get her a new car...make my life easier...

/rant for now....

Christina: I missed you by a few minutes at dm. Thy grey wrx is in the shop at the end. At least when I was there at 4:15 it was.

Jason: thanks for your help. Too bad it's not cost effective to rebuild axles over remans. But it's nice having another guy like matt there that knows what's up when it comes to subies.

Shannon: whenever you like to pick this thing up is cool with me. It's just rattling in the back of the wagon.

Crap. Today was the one day I left it behind. We took the Honda sine we are leaving for Milwaukee right after work. It's sitting in the wrx in my garage.

It was nice to meet kyle, and subablu also yesterday. And that silver wrx behind the shop looks clean, the door was locked so i was not able to look under the hood yet. When i see a tech bring it in i will take a look. Just installed some green l.e.d.'s footwell lights, and had a smalll ding removed. Almost ready for the show just need to wash wax and shine for the show. Also recently installed a SPT radiator shroud.
