Spotted a 2 car caravan containing your car and Hoklens car with your boy toy riding shot gun over the weekend.

We see either you or Hoklen rolling around on the East Side several times a week when running errands in the Nitro after work. I like being low key

Yes it has play but was holding boost when removed. Some oil smoke on startup.

Josh, I've got a crank that had 1 spun rod bearing. Can you PM me with an idea of what it'll run to get it turned? (lego parts from old engines service was tossing )

I'm also wondering if it's possible to machine down domed pistons from an AVCS short block to chamber match 2.5 SOHC heads. There's a long story behind the SB, but it's brand new and I'd like to drop it in until the race engine gets finished. As far as I can tell, there isn't anything that wouldn't be compatible.

I'm setting up another Sat. dyno day at KMM mid-Aug if anyone is interested. Dusty and Corina need to get the rally car done before the Ojibwe Forest Rally and I know there are a few of you who ran base-line sheets and are modding now. It'd be a good chance to see how the mods worked out. FranZ, are you available for on the spot work on dyno day?

Shannon, most people machine the heads, not the pistons to achieve that. Also, if you have any 10 or 11 auto Foresters, lemme know. A friend is looking at some utes

What day for dyno? Only conflict so far is that I am thinking about going to Road America for the ALMS weekend (Aug 19).

Cost to machine the piston to fit would far exceed the cost of a different piston.

I'm in for the dyno day.

John G said weekend of the 19th is out, too. Aug 13th would be the day, then. Ojibwe is the last weekend.

I knew machining the pistons would be unconventional, but I figured I'd ask. AVCS pistons have a pretty tall knob that hits on non-AVCS heads. Hard to just leave a perfectly good SB sit in it's plastic box while I assemble another one from scratch. If I had some take-off AVCS heads, I can make it work, but that's not likely for another few years. Oh, well.

nope. i would like to get my q300 by then but i doubt i will given that we just paid for a new concrete driveway. curious to see what it makes as it sits and what the afr is. if possible to lean it out a touch and gain a little more power and mpg at the same time or if it's peaked/plateaued where it sits.

I get the 13th cleared with John G for the dyno. I'll get a thread started with a limited number of time slots to fill so we don't over-do it again.
