Question ATTN: Link owners. New Tool in development. Need feedback

Many of you have expressed an opinion (as well as for my own personal use) a way to graph data besides using the playback feature.

I know this is going to be the next tool. However, I wanted your thoughts on how the tool should work. Here is what I've been thinking..

- The ability to display settings in a graph format
- The ability to overlay one log with another, as well as line up the graphs so you could compare two logs.

For example...

you open up log1 and log2. Both are displayed in the graph. You can scroll back and forth if you wish. This would move both graphs. THEN you could shift one graph or the other to line up a drag run ... so you could see both drags overlaying each other. In this situation you would most likely line up when you hit the gas.

OR

have the ability to display up to 5 logs but only one setting at a time. But each graph is in its own window...kinda like the Delta Dash screen shots...but each would be a MAP output. Then you could quickly change between each logged setting...and scroll...

This one is kinda tough to see in your head...maybe I'll make a demo screen shot...

UPDATE: I have started work on the new interface. Each tool will be incorporated into the same program so it will be kind of a suit of tools. I have been working on the map compare and resolving issues.

do we like???

Thank you, Jenison!

Another thought would be the ability to change the scales/units on the axes. For instance, I might want to plot %FF vs RPM then later switch it up to plot TPS vs MAP.. just hypothetical, but you get the point. I'm REALLY lookin forward to this tool.

Wee hoo!

Good stuff Jenison! Would it be possible to add an option to show O2 data as both raw data plots and AFR plots?

BTW I use your Link map compare tool all the time as I'm still trying to get a grip on the ins and outs of ECU tuning.

Keep up the good work!

Good to hear ... just want to mention that converting the voltage to AFR would be easy. However, like the readings it takes...can be very inaccurate if outside of the range of the sensor or close to the outside range.

I may put in an option to convert the MAP value to psi as well...

worked on it just a little bit last night...mostly testing some activex controls that I thought I could use.

anyway...which interface do you guys like better of the two?

maybe I should draw something up, scan it and post it so you could look at it.

Ya it's a bit difficult to visualize right now, but I think I like the first option better.

At any rate anything will be better than what we have right now, and since you're doing this on your own time, for free, you can bet that I'm gonna be happy with whatever it ends up being

Thanks again,

I would love to get started on it. However, I just have to get somethings finished first (work related).

sorry guys...

I know it won't take me long...just need to sit down and do it. argh...if only I didn't have to sleep. I could code everything I wanted too...
