Default blown turbo, head gasket, or something else?

a while back i posted about having a white build up in my exhaust up through my turbo. everything looked fine at the time other than that and the common word from nasioc was dont worry about it.

well now times fast forwarded since then, and my coolant level in the overflow tank is pretty low.

first thoughts are crap, blown head gasket. but from what im understanding is that if the headgasket goes coolant mixes with the oil, which isnt happening. my oil was dirty but not milky.

my car has 125K miles on it and my turbo shaft it starting to play pretty freely so i know i have to replace it now, so i was going to build for 300whp.

so back to my question in the thread title, is it possible that the turbo is blowing coolant through my engine, head gasked blown out, or something else that could be causing this?

BTW, i have 150psi compression on all 4 cylinders

I really doubt you have headgasket problems, as your compression is even across the board and your oil isn't contaminated. Sounds like something is amiss with your turbo. Sounds like you are loosing coolant somewhere, and you're getting a buildup of junk from your turbo. Check the appropriate coolant lines, perhaps? And if you've got shaft play, pull the turbo, inspect it and all the gear attached to it, and get a new unit (all when you're ready).

what would i be looking for when inspecting the turbo? should i break it open and take a look at the internals? i recently had it out and from the outside everything looks like normal.
