Default 2008 WRX 337HP / 344 TQ TD06 20g, Avo TMIC, 50/50 Meth, 92 Pump

Went down to Surgeline today, Tim Bailey tuned, as you can see there are multiple maps below, best numbers were 337 HP 344 TQ @ 21 PSI.

Boost is tapering pretty heavily at 5000 RPM due to the TMIC, I may switch it out for a FMIC we will have to see if I can tolerate loosing my bumper support.

Big thanks to Tim for fighting through a couple bumps in the road and to Kelly @ Speedware for building out the car.

Default nice numbers..

Nice:

You will have more room with a FMIC Jarrad tuned my TDO6h 20G 7cm internal with an ebay FMIC and it made 335hp and 365tq at 22psi tapering to about 19.5 at rl no meth.

Then again , do you really need it? I have often thought a TMIC with meth is a better route.

I guess that is up to you.

I forgot to mention that why I posted this was it was on the same dyno...

Nice numbers.

You could also look into another EBCS/MBC and EWG, to better control/hold boost up top.

I am pretty sure the perrin tmic flows more than the avo. If there are problems with cooling you could always throw a smaller nozzle pre intercooler.

Also, what is the meth kit diven by. Boost? injector duty cycle? maf?

Yeah, Tim said pretty much the same thing. It is a daily driver so I probably dont need it, but now that the seed is planted in my head I'll probably end up doing it...

Good suggestion, I'll look into it.

Yeah, the Avo is clearly the weakest link here. The meth kit can be driven off the boost line or the MAP. Mine is setup off boost.

They are comin, I will post in the detail section once I get the car cleaned up, it of course rained last night..

Stock tranny, just bolted on STi front brakes calipers with 5x100 rotors to help control the power.

Thanks everyone for the complements and suggestions. Keep them comin!

Now you just need the Cobb lightweight crank pulley, that's where my power came from.

Tim is a very good tuner and does tunes that are conservative, reliable, safe, and strong. I couldn't let anyone else tune my car. Enjoy your car.

so how did you mate an avo TM with a 20g? the 20g compressor outlet doesnt have a flange to mate to the AVO TM does it?

Deadbolt makes a legacy / 3g WRX fit 20 gram turbo. Link below:

http://www.boostplanet.com/05_legacy_gt.htm

TMIC fits in stock location, just have to remove the plastic wire retention clip from behind the plastic TB. The turbo comes with 3 new bolt posts that you screw in and bolt up. Both are nicely designed and require little to no major manipulation.

I believe others make similar turbos. I went with the deadbolt because I got a pretty good deal on it from a fellow NASIOC user.

So to answer the question, I used a turbo designed to mate with the 3g WRX / Legacy GT intercooler flange and a intercooler designed to mate with the stock turbo compressor outlet flange.

The AVO Tmic flow 60lb/min... Thats alot of air Gt30r only flows 52lb/min I dont think the perrin flow more than that....

Yeah, the Avo is clearly the weakest link here. The meth kit can be driven off the boost line or the MAP. Mine is setup off boost.
In your setup, that may be less than ideal. Even though boost is tapering, maf is not. You could benefit from more flow in the upper rpms even though boost is tapering.

Hummmm, can you explain a little more?

The Meth kit comes on at 50% at about 9.5 boost PSI and is progressivly stronger untill full pressure at about 15 PSI and stays on full untill boost falls below 15 PSI, so untill I lift or engage the clutch. So in a WOT pull meth would be fully engaged at about 3800 RPM and held constant untill redline.
