Some fog is normal and usually clears up on its own. I always add some extra sealant when I reassemble just to be sure. How well are the lights sealed up in the rear?

for the hid projectors, im confident that they are 99 percent sealed.. its hard to explain with a keyboard, but i went projector, bulb, rubber gasket, then end cap to screw on projector, then the (nice and snug) orange connection to the ballast, if that makes any sense to you. it all fit very snug without any movement whatsoever. i only had to do some very small trim work with the dremel to open up the hole enough for it all to fit in (thats what she said). the blinker and marker are still factory style, which seal 'good enough' as far as i know.

Im leery about my job putting the two halves of the coconut back together, however. maybe i didnt heat it enough, or press hard enough.

If you go to the trouble of opening them up again more sealant is a good idea. I'd have to see them in person or look at pics to determine how well the backs are sealed. You can try heating and squishing more. Are they both foggy? Does the fog go away when they've been on for a while?

so i went to lunch and after like ten minutes of those babies cookin all the fog dissapated..
i failed to mention this: last night after i finished everything i went and got a car wash...
thank you and i think i am okay now, ill let you know if i have any more problems.

If i fail to post pictures, they just look all blacked out with covers for markers and the stock amber covers for blinkers.

After being backordered since October(!), my Morimoto matchbox projectors finally came in. They are bi xenon and hilariously small. I'll post pics as soon as I'm able.

They could be used as fogs but would need to go in a housing since they aren't self contained like the Blazers.

I've replied to a couple PMs, and posted in one or two other threads so I felt it was time to bump this thread. I will be posting output pics of my current setup as well as pics of the matchbox minis-though I don't think TRS carries them anymore. I have a couple ideas in mind for them, though and when I get the time I'll start tinkering and post pics. The dark season is fast approaching and I'm always curious what everyone else is running.

Subscribing to this thread to track for later.

PFD season, I am thinking of picking up a 10" LED bar similar to Tribal's to install on the S4, for my jaunts out to the Glacier.

just finished the second retrofit on my bugeye. The first retro I used morimoto mini d2s projectors and 35w morimoto ballasts w/ 5k beams.
This project entailed morimoto FXR 3.0 projectors, 55w ballasts, completely new harness and 5k bulbs again.
Since i'm excited about the results, and i was reading this thread, i'll say my two cents on a 02/03 retrofit. Doing this project again, I'd definitely recommend the FXR projector.
It's bulky, it's harder to install, and you have to use plenty of messy kwik weld and steel stick, but the result is simply outstanding. Great Light output (55w is super bright), sharp cut off line (could be good or a bad thing), wide beam angle, and personally I like the construction of the FXRs, being they are almost fully encased and protected. The high beam flapper in the d2s mini's is rumoured to stick and not close when High beams are flipped off, and one of mine (passenger side) did just that.. frustrating. The FXR's are built with durability in mind; they installed with zero problems. I'd say the only downside is that they take more skill and meticulousness to install. I'll post with more updates once i've put some miles on the new setup.
