Doesn't the number 20 in EJ20 refer to a 2.0 litre motor?
That add says 2.2litres.

Am I wrong?

This is not a legacy turbo motor. At least not a USDM legacy turbo motor. The USDM is not intercooled. I have not seen this motor before, so it may have come from another country.

It looks like a Liberty motor actually. Liberty being the non-US Legacy.

What really gets me is their description:
Engine No. EJ20
Subaru Turbo 2200CC = 2.2L

The EJ20 is the EJ series with 2.0L displacement. 2200CC means that there is 2.2L of displacement. Something is very fishy.

Heck, the person that posted it doesn't even know model years the engine can go into..."Impreza '95--'99" Try again.

Ownly- I know it's JDM, I read it after I posted OOPS. The motor in my Legacy turbo is a 2.2L so as far as I know it's engine number is EJ22. I don't know that this is correct though, only what I've heard.

OMIGOD! This is obviously a 22b motor! 2.0 bored to 2.2! Intercooled twin cam turbo! What a find! $300 bucks! (yeah I'm just kidding)

Speaking of the 22B motor, what was the engine code for it? Does anybody know? Can't be EJ22 because they're different.

Thumbs down

Yeah, and it says 30 - 40k miles on it.

Uh, hello, anyone notice that torn and destroyed drives side CV joint? My CV joints tend to last longer than 40k miles. Try 60 - 80k miles.

Buyer beware, I always say....

Didn't look at the pic but a torn booth indicates nothing about the motor. I could have been torn during dismanteling, or in an accident, or normal city driving in japan where you are at full lock often.
