Post Swap update....Concerns
2005 2.5rs swapped with a ej205 (might need this)
So, after a couple months of my car being down during my swap process, I finally got it running. Some issues I'm having now are a little odd. Before the go get a tune speech, I want to know a couple things.
I have a modified motor...nothing major but here is the list of mods.
Unorthodox underdrive pulley
Perrin Turbo Inlet
Possibly modified injectors? they came with the engine (figure a tune could fix any issues with them.)
thats all.... I know the car should be in limp mode, but how far does that really go? I drove the car for a week (only 15-20 miles total) and ran okay, for limp mode. But now i tried driving it this morning and it is idling very funny, and cant get past 2200-2500 rpms without shaking and jerking horribly. I topped the car out at 40 in 5th gear on my way home from work, which is thankfully only 2 miles away.
Does this sound like limp mode, or is there something more serious? My check engine light codes are:
p1086, p1088, p1094, p1096...these are all tgv related
p0345....wastegate/boost controller (this is unhooked and running off spring pressure, i have a grimmspeed ebcs, cant use until tuned)
Cant remember the code offhand, but the display says its o2 bank 2...which is due to the catless part.
p1507....idle contol malf. (fail safe) this is new, so I ordered the new gasket for the iacv and figure i would clean it and try that.
p1230....fuel pump controller, i didnt install that yet, car is in open loop fuel trim could this cause the problem? wouldnt it cause the car to run rich and thats all?
I have the FPC on its way so if that it then im not worried, i just wont drive it. I know it needs a tune, and have the resources of getting one, but I dont want to drive it to the tuner with the issues it has right now. Help anyone??
