There are no rules governing the size of tires you fit on legal wheels. They can also stick outside the fenders.

And I can only get 235s on my WRX wagon in DS

Have fun - hope you can get all that rubber up to temp but if you do, it should stick like crazy!

The car is a tad heavy, and I am not what you call a "precision" driver. I think they'll come up to temp just fine

Are they blue from the reflection of the car's color, or they really that burnt?

Also, are the wheels 6" or 6.5" wide? I ask because I've seen this tire on CS Miatas and DS ITR's on 6" wide wheels. I'd guess yours are 6.5's...

I believe all Subaru 15" wheels (Impreza, Legacy, etc.) are 15x6" only. The 16's that were optional for that year are 16x6.5", just like the WRX. I can't fit more than 245/45-16 A6's all the way around on that chassis...I know, I have a set in the garage. That's a big tire, but unfortunately it's waaaaay tall. The 275's on the 15's get the car nice and low, and because of the 3.90 gears in the rear, it's not too short. Those tires are massively wide though!

Tires were begged off of the Hoosier truck at Solo Nationals....I had to do terrible things behind the Hoosier trailer....terrible things!! So who knows where they were from. ::shrug::

Jay--- the vids are on my work computer, which took a dump....they are working on it! Terrible luck Hopefully they will be salvaged, or at least we can pull the HD and get the files.

My tire guy at Discount Tire usually mounts his next-door neighbor's CP Mustang tires, so he knows what he's doing! He actually did not charge me (morbid curiosity to see if it would fit), but slipped him some cash on the way out. He's the store manager, don't think it'll be a problem haha. He did have it mounted quicker than the regular tire monkeys/young guys do though!

I really don't think any Impreza ever came with 15x6.5" wheels....someone correct me if I'm wrong. Only a 6" wide wheel. I'd love to run a 15x6.5", for no other reason than I bought ALL of the legal 15x6" from TireRack for the Impreza back in '06/'07, and the next closest wheel is 6.5" wide and only $84....which is a heck of a lot easier than trying to find 15" Subaru wheels, for some reason!

Dan Pedroza, 2nd in C-Stock, at nationals, is, I think, the service manager of the shop that puts my tires on now, so he didn't even blink when I had the 235/45/17's shipped for the 08' WRX. I'm assuming when I come with the 255/45/17 A6's it will be the same. (on Kosei's, as I think I'll need the additional offset to clear the spring perches).

I'm thinking it won't be a total waste of time to take the Rex to Nationals next year, based on how my raw times are comparing from this weekends race, Vs, Dan's, Andy Hollis, and John Hale's, and assuming I'd be upgrading to adjustables, good brake pads, and R-comps. (and assuming I'll have another season to get better, as I'm only 6 races in, and two removed from Novice.) It wasn't a difficult course, though, and from the vids I've seen of Nationals, it looked pretty tricky, and I tend to get lost pretty easily still.

It was a trip, I was actually pushing hard enough to finally feel what it meant when they say "get it to rotate". I definately seemed to be better able to get it to do it more with offset tire pressures, 38 psi front, 40.5 in back.

The MS-3 that was 3 seconds ahead of me two races ago, was less than a second ahead this race.

I define that by it not being a waste of time if I'm not dead last.

We need to meet up at a race one of these days James.

Which Discount Tire? I'm going to be needing tires soon... it's nice to find one where someone actually has a clue.

It's a narrow wheel for the tire, and is certainly not going to be ideal - I had long talks about this because the set of 275s I got for the RS I put on a set of 8s and some very experienced and winning guys said that might have been some of my issue with them "not working."

For stock class it's great - you get what you can get where you can get it. We had good results putting 225s on a 5-inch Honda wheel.

For SP, it's probably not going to be any better than a 245 on an 8-inch wheel or some other "better fitting" combo.

As far as not working.. the 225s didn't "work" at nationals either, what I think the real issue is the massive ballance change the car shows when it has more grip thrown at it. So.. I am probably going to stick with the 225s, but there will be spring and shock changes to fit with it. (Which seems intuitive for optimum results... but I didn't expect the 275s to be slower than the 225 with the setup that was on it.. I at least expected it to be a *little* better.)

That car was awesome, but we sold EVERYTHING when we moved to Houston....the HS Impreza, the STS2 MR2, the Porsche 924S (PCA car), and the tow rig..... Had a lot of good things stewing. I still think that the MR2 is the way in STS to go after driving Lincoln.

Now I'm kinda in the "Drive What You Got" mindset....I has a Legacy, so I's drivin' da Legacy

If I had to do an Impreza in HS, I'd do a 2001 L Sedan. Most motor, decent weight, fit stuff in the back.

If I had to do a Legacy in HS, I'd do a 1991 Legacy SS Turbo (Sport Sedan) with the viscous center and viscous rear LSD, and still wedge the 275's on there. When that got boring, I'd do the same and run that in FSP until it got moved to BSP (exactly 1 race).

I have a '00 Legacy. Thank God it's not an automatic. I own it. It's paid for. That's about all it's got going for it. Oh, I can fit 12 mounted wheels/tires in it and still carry passengers Shrug.
